Well said

They’ve been spinning their wheels for a while now and the Cena run was flat out bad in spots

I didn’t mind the tap but it may be one of those things that goes over so poorly in the moment that it becomes the wrong decision

They better have something good lined up for Gunther now. Can’t waste this

If Gunther is retiring people, AJ Styles could be a guy next year for him. Got to think Punk is tied up with Heyman & Co. so it's not him yet. Raw lineup in its current place you got Styles, Rey, (probably not) Rusev and Louisiana Knight. Except I assume he was written off TV after last week.

I mean it’s fine to not have a next chapter. His whole thing has been never giving up though. That just went out the window right at the end for no reason. Just have him pass out.
This. He should have lost this match...I don't think that's where the anger is from. It's the "never give up" mantra just being thrown out in the final seconds. Cena should have passed out. The final 5 minutes of being in a rest holds just to tap out is right up there with #17 coming from interference by a rapper Dwayne sent. They seemed to get some momentum back after the abysmal WM but pissed it all away. Paul only makes it worse by acting like he could care less what the fans think.

2025 is going to be viewed as the year professional wrestling in the US died. Announcing WM for NOLA then switchingback to Vegas. Letting Dwayne do whatever he wants which ended in a shitty WM. Putting the Rumble in the fricking middle east. Not having tonight's show at either MSG or in Boston.

Cena deserved so much more from this farewell tour and the fans are rightfully pissed at Paul for managing the completely screw up what should have been an easily booked tour. In the end he tapped to a guy who didn't need the rub.

TBF, how they got Miz, Truth, and Hendry on the show was brilliant. The standout NXT performer was Sol Ruca. Lash may have the rocket strapped to her for Jade's title but Sol will be in the IC title picture the minute she's on RAW full time.

As a DC local I’m thankful it was in my backyard my brother and I got lucky. He was able to get face value employee tickets for us.

But we didn’t meet a single other local person. Everyone else we met was from all over the country. You could tell it was a non local crowd because they didn’t do any of the local variants of the national anthem (which was INSANE btw; props to Lillian Garcia)

He has been given the rest of the year off to get healthy. He's banged up to Hell(wrist and shoulder) and he has worked more shows(TV and house) than anyone else in the company this year.

He's earned it.

Going to this event has me jacked up to start following again. Watched a bunch when I was younger. My brother and one of my buddies who just had a kid have both gotten into it again recently and it’s just super fun.

Going to the live event and feeling the energy in there was awesome. Oba definitely won entrance of the night outside of Cena.

And Sol Luca was sweet doing her hand stands and her awesome finisher.

ETA: Also warmed my heart that the second biggest boos of the night were anytime they mentioned anything slightly related to Saudi Arabia.

Pumped for the women's rumble. Going to be awesome watching them all come down in pleather from head to toe!

I’m just so disgusted at how we’ve whored ourselves out to them in so many ways. It’s appalling.

So you think moving major PLEs like rumble and mania overseas is good?

Gunther is a great character and heel

I don’t disagree but THAT is all they could come up with for the goat’s last match? Did Gunther even need that kind of lift? It’s not like he’s an up and comer, he’s been around and his character has been a heel for a good while now. This was just another copy/paste of the USO and Goldberg matches.

I couldn't care less where they hold these shows. Hold all of them in Saudi, hold them on the moon I don't care. I just feel bad for the indies that piggieback off of Mania weekend and these independent performers that get their trips comped and see their biggest paydays of their years missing out on that in 2027.

Better? It is really starting to feel like the early 90s again and there's not a WCW to push them thanks to Tony treating AFW as a way to fantasy book his adolescent desires.

My wife (no pics) and I had it on Wednesday night. She doesn't listen to Cornette/Dave/anyone on YT (so no negative outside bias). Her reaction was "this is terrible" during the Okada-Jungle Jack match.

Wrestling is cyclical. NXT was horrible when they started 2.0. It's taken nearly half a decade but it's now solidly behind the WWE main roster as the #2 brand. I'm sure WWE will have a resurgence when the roster is filled with more than a handful of 2.0 talent. Don't forget that TKO trashed house shows and has priced families out of events. They're stuck with Netflix RAW having to be the "A" show, SD back to cable, and NXT as the only program on network TV.

I kinda get it. Gunther in his present form felt stale, and he doesn't have much personality to really be anything but the Euro dick heel. Other than trying to present him as a strong candidate to win the Rumble, him being in this match wasn't needed.

Drew was always going to interfere in Cody's match, so I would've swapped Oba and Gunther, or at least had Oba vs. Cena, if they really wanted to present the future stars (like the women's match).

This isn’t the first time they’ve had major events outside of the US and the company kept right on ticking. From a business standpoint, it would be stupid not to do so. Do Chicago/Boston/Philadelphia really need 6-7 events each a year? Pretty sure they will be fine with 2-3.

And before you blame this on TKO, Toronto hosted WM in 1990 and 2002, SummerSlam was in London in 1992, and Survivor Series 98 was in Montreal. Those are just the ones of the 4 majors pre TKO. They probably had another 30 or so PLEs outside of the US are bare minimum.

Are you under the impression that WWE is obligated to only run events in the US for some reason? Do you believe that WWE/wrestling fans only exist in North America?

Don’t even think about taking the moral high ground about the whole Middle Eastern events situation because I’m sure I could find plenty of shite in your household made in China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and various southeast Asian countries.
