The Last Selfie - Please, make sure your kids know to stay away from railroad tracks

Nice selfie, three teen girls having a great time together as they watch a train go by. Sadly, they didn't see or hear the train coming up behind them (you can see the headlight in the selfie). All three were killed as one or both trains struck them.
Just a sad reminder: Make sure your kids know how dangerous railroad tracks are. Saw someone yesterday getting a photo on the tracks. Some photographers like to take photos on tracks - don't let it happen.
The engineer and conductor have to live with this. Took place in 2011 in Utah.
Selfied Tragedy

Standing on a RR track and didn't hear a train coming? Were they deaf?

How sober people get hit by trains is a complete mystery to me.

Go visit your local Wal Mart for 10 minutes; all doubt will be removed from your mind.

Yeah, it's not like the train jumps off its tracks to hit you.

Now they will never grow up and marry a nice guy. The nice guy will have to find three others.

Idiots. How can you not hear or see a train?

The way I read it, they were standing in front of one that was already moving so they couldn't hear the one on the tracks that they were standing on.

They had scooted up close to a train that was passing by (which put them between the two tracks). The noise would mask the sound of the other train.
I photographed this near mowdown - the couple did not see or hear the other train coming up the hill and only the KCS engineer's quick action stopped them from getting killed.

I'm assuming this is bullshite without a credible link to a news story. There's no way they didn't hear a fricking train, who was most probably blasting his horn.
