They'll probably tell you about their wage gap inequalities going on thanks to the Boomers and how much they can't afford a suit anymore if you asked

I always wear a suit to funerals. I feel like it shows respect, and maybe some family member will appreciate it. Living in NELA, that usually means I'm the only guy besides the pastors and funeral home people dressed that way. My cousin's ex-husband wore his MC vest and leather pants to her funeral. He was dressed nicer than a lot of guys.

Used to do the same for weddings, but lots of the invitations say casual now. If they say that, that's the way I go.

I work out of the house so I'm in gymn clothes a lot. Getting to where I dress up more when I actually leave the house for something besides an errand.

All the yapping about not wearing suits, I'll tell you one thing. Girls like it and it still gets respect.

They sure do. I blinged out with my accessories (shoes, tie, square, studs) for my nephew's wedding and the women LOVED it. Several compliments to me and to my sister wondering who I was.

The power of the suit is real.

The next round will probably be nieces and nephews.

I've attended several of my second cousin's weddings over the last 10 years. My uncle (90), and my dad (88) are all that's left of 12 siblings. Most of this uncle's kids live in the Denver area, and my parents don't like to drive in big cities, especially one's they're not familiar with. It gives the two brothers a chance to visit. I always go, and drive my parents around. I worked some summers for this uncle, with a couple of my cousins, building houses. My brother lived out by the Red Rocks amphitheater, and worked in Littleton back then too.

My uncle was known for developing neighborhoods with quality spec homes. Those two cousins have their own company, and build custom homes.

My uncle married a Catholic woman, and they had seven kids. There are still three or four 2nd cousins that haven't graduated high school, so more trips will be made out there.

Planning a trip around, and attending, a wedding is about the best way can think of to visit relatives. Much better than a funeral, or even a family reunion. Don't have to invite the deadbeats to a weddding.

Not making this up. Funeral in the parlor next to the one I was attending... Pallbearers are lined up in matching black slacks, white dress shirts (neck unbuttoned), black ties (loosened), backwards black baseball caps, sunglasses perched on top of the caps.

Way too young!! Was she ill in any sort of way, or it was just, "BOOM, she's dead"?

Completely out of the blue. When I got the call I went into "shock" as in, could not comprehend it. Turned out she had an diagnosed heart condition. The funeral was great btw. The first viewings were tough but the eulogy was funny and well spirited. It was a closure everyone needed.

And you still went home alone. And this is exactly what we are talking about. If you are a guy over thirty and you care about what other people think about you. You are insecure.

If you get married in september on a Saturday and I'm expected to go i will be there in a maroon golf shirt and ring my cowbell once the kiss is made. I aint got time for a suit sept-november. dead or alive. I might wear a sportscoat at a september saturday funeral out of "respect"
I'm pretty sure if the dead person were to come back to life he would say, "don't wear a suit, wear something you don't mind getting grease from food on and BTW There better be a feast or else i'm gonna haunt you fackers till you die."

The rest of the time yes i wear suit.
