LBJ and the Vietnamese war my #1 in my lifetime. we got the black panthers out of that. we got the transition from using blacks as the shitworkers to using latinos as the shitworkers and the current 10 or 15 million illegals, and 25% unemployed blacks and millions of black in prison, all out of LBJ and McNamara's political ploy. We got Nixon as president out of it. Humphrey was soundly defeated by Richard Mulhouse when the libs sat on their hands after the 1968 Democratic convention and the "police riot" in Grant Park. "police riot" was the official term. Nixon opened trade with the Red Chinese so as to destroy union production workers and their support for the Dems, which he accomplished.
Most of the issues Trump and Sanders are talking about can be laid directly to Nixon. Nixon is not elected if LBJ does not go to war.

Lincoln doesn't die and reconstruction might have actually worked right-- integration of freed slaves with land redistribution from plantations (40 acres and a mule), it wouldn't have been easy but maybe we dodge Jim Crow and basically skip a century of racial strife or at least speed up the progress.
