I'm fortunate that I'm not, and I'm well aware of that...

I've been in their situation twice in my lifetime, though. So maybe go ahead and kindly frick off instead of lecturing about this.

I didn't know LSU still had a band.

Nobody is lecturing....just an opinion. I simply suggested the folks at the shelters might of enjoyed this performance by the Southern band. Your (singular) disdain for this amazing HBC band is interesting.

I clicked this expecting Doug E. Fresh to be giving a concert...... Didn't he call himself the human beatbox?

No. That was Darren Robinson. He died 20 years ago.

While I genuinely don't care what you find interesting, I never mentioned any disdain for the Southern band.

The sounds of the Southern University band would be pretty low on the list.

It's a great gesture because for those who were affected and living in the shelter, those few moments of music would definitely be uplifting in the fact that it would momentarily take my mind off of things. I'm also sure the band donated supplies as well as speaking to those in the shelter, intermingling, telling them things were going to get better, etc. it's the little things at times when you have lost everything.

The LSU football team did this as well.....but our band did not!! NO CLASS.

Yes. It's half of my quote.

How about you include the other half of my quote so that you can put it into actual context?

So what would make you happy, Irish? I get that this is a rant board, but it seems like every body but you wants to see the band be successful and good. If they actually do something that in your opinion is decent, will you say anything then??? I have a feeling I know that answer.

This my response to something on the Rant.....I hope this helps.

If you love LSU,
you make the hard decisions to correct the cancerous effects of this regime.
And you hold responsible those who didn't have the guts to correct it when we had a good coach in the wings .
We will love se some good recruits and have a couple of down years, but for a glimpse at the alternative, look at Texas next door. They waited too long, were too tentative ( because of loyalty to a largely successful, but underperforming coach) and it will cost them in YEARS of recovery time.
Nobody gives up on the players, but don't use that as an excuse to deal with the very real problem.

Well said!!!
The same can be said about the LSU band this year. We love the band. If we are critical of things concerning the band, that does not mean we are not supportive of the students in the band or the traditions associated with the band.
