Yes - it is stupid and a 20th century novelty that should be put away. It is a tool for people to excuse their behavior and idiotic expectations.

start high and negotiate brah. Or are you not understanding how commerce works? What do you care if an estate is willing to wait it out? Are you suggesting the people who lived and died in those houses should have sold before they died? And then what?

all of these real estate bitch threads are so so stupid

You have a stroke or something? You turned into RogertheShrubber/777Tiger lite overnight (I think they also had strokes that caused them to turn tarded)

mingo i promise when you get older your capacity to care about what other people think, about real estate or anything else, will decline as well. And you’ll wonder why on earth you chose to argue about stupidity on the internet in the first place

I’m not a selfish prick or an idiot, so understand how this attitude affects everyone, including me whether directly or indirectly

Perhaps this is true. I don't know where. I haven't heard of one of my boomer acquaintances do that. Seems like I would have heard of one. Hell, even the ones I've known to go into assisted living is paying their way out of money and investments.

I imagine observation bias. No different than thinking the denizens of the MT board are reflective of the general population.

is the premise of this argument that older sellers are being selfish by asking a premium for their investment? Really?

so understand how this attitude affects everyone,
BUT it doesn't effect "everyone". Just like always there are some that maybe effected. Most want. Many will croak today. The croak rate will take care of this.

There are other places for those that wait too long to go. I know where.

And so when they can't go where they want they go where the gov't sends them. My wife's cousin was one of them. She never had a house and very little savings. She suffered from ALS and they found a place for her.

I’m dealing with it right now, basically living in Virginia trying to figure out what and where the living situation for my MIL will be. Her husband just died, she’s had a stroke, and she owns the house…which if on the market I would price very high because if she’s not living in it we will need every penny we can get from it. If that takes time then we will wait

but yes let’s whine and cry about real estate prices for another three pages

The delusion on display

Equating someone not feeling sorry for a group of people that aren't able to milk every ounce of equity out of their home to enjoying someone dying of cancer.

Like I said, I don't care what you do. But just know that you will all go down as the worst generation to ever live, and it won't be terribly close. That is happening.
