How did LSU's campus come out of this? Alex Box and Death Valley get some water? They seem to be lower than the rest of campus, right?

Pretty sure they're dry. It would be all over if they took on water.

question....im hearing a lot of major water ways are just NOW cresting. Thought that was happening last night? Does that mean some of these smaller water ways a la bayou fountain will still see some backwater flooding?

Bass Pro was hit hard. Cabelas maybe the sole survivor in the merger in Prairieville.

Check the other stickied thread, there is a Facebook page for the recovery response.

Greatest need is probably south in Ascension and Iberville that are evacuating right now.

But BE CAREFUL! Whatever you do

Weather for today looks pretty typical for this time of year, there may be a some afternoon downpours but nothing that is going to change the overall flood picture. After today, it looks like there will be a decent stretch of below normal precipitation. That will obviously be a welcome break and should keep recovery efforts mostly dry.

The 00z GEFS shows below normal precipitation for days 4 to 10 and is pretty much supported by the Euro models and the overall pattern.

One other note, the models are showing the Atlantic getting active over the next 10 days. At this point, I'm a bit skeptical based on the overall global pattern. I would certainly ignore anyone posting models images showing a hurricane nearing the Gulf over the next 10 days or so. I know everyone is on edge and that is the last thing anyone wants to see.

Anyone know if LA30/ Nicholson from LSU Campus is open to Gonzales/I10 and passable to drive in a low car? Trying to get from LSU to NOLA and not familiar with this route.

As far as I know, Nicholson is still closed from Lee Dr to gardere. River Road to lauberge/gardere to 30 should be a good option there.

Eta: maybe not if they're evacuating there
