Here's the 100 year flood map. Given the circumstances and what's predicted to come, the data says we're looking at possibly a 500 year flood. Tiger Stadium will be underwater.
One thing to note, a lot of people outside the 100 yr don't have flood insurance. Some places that are totally flooded only have a few houses with flood insurance.

I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around it. But the river forecasts, that already record breaking, aren't even counting anything that will fall in the future, which as of right now could be 10-15 more inches.

Just left a friend of mines moms house off Port Hudson Pride rd bordering the Comite. Holy shite the water was about 3' and rising fast below her house. Luckily we got the vehicles out while we could. His 91yr grandmother wanted to stay, but for obvious reasons we had to get her out to safety. At this point I couldn't get my truck to her so we called a friend with a boat and picked her arse up and boated her to safety. It was awesome to see, but unfortunately a lot of damage will be done before this ends. Here's a pic I snapped of the evacuation.

So the general consensus is that Baton Rouge is fricked but New Orleans will be fine?

Anyone know if the New Roads - St Francisville area is seeing flooding? I know 61 is closed at Thompson Creek.
Edit: Looks like rainfall totals west of Zachary look much lower than Baton Rouge and to the northeast. Weird storm system.

I heard St. Francisville was getting some but I haven't seen anything on New Roads.
The governor declared a state of emergency right? Does that mean Federal dollars will start pouring in?

Buddy coming from Monroe had to detour over Audobon bridge. Made it to BR via new bridge with no problems at all.

On a more serious note, is this going to mess up duck hunting in SWLA this winter?

I'm supposed to travel to BR on Monday from North LA. Are they predicting problems continuing into Monday a.m.? (And are businesses shutting down?)

The truck driver rescue earlier was done by 2 guys who were in a Jeep per WBRZ ... Sean and someone else ... who tied themselves together and then to the jeep and got the driver.
The truck that first tried to rescue the driver went off of the road and no one knows where it is ... WBRZ contacted the sheriffs dept and they have no knowledge of where that truck is.
Scary shite. I so hope that they're ok.

Probably too early to answer that. Should be able to decide on a route by mid day Sunday.
