your rice fields are flooded? I thought they were supposed to be flooded. Isn't that a thing or did I make that u

No you didn't make that up BUT they're supposed to be DRY at harvest! Not looking good for the rest of the 400+ acres that remain. Need no rain and tons of sunshine to dry up the field. I'll be asking my husband when he comes home about the outlook .. if the rice is in the field TOO long it can get overripe and that reduces the price. That's not a good thing.

And I was just kidding ...

Trucker is fine ... he was rescued but no word that I've heard on the other people in the truck.

Hooper Rd probably.

I-110 is almost certainly flooded in Baton Rouge.

Another 15 inches per GFS by Tuesday.

I'll try and get a run of the HRRR to post, but the most recent run I saw was devastating for the Baton Rouge area. Big blow up of rain again at 10 pm tonight.

HRRR (short term high resolution model)

Another HRRR link

I know you were, it's all good. I hate to hear about such a huge potential loss... 400 acres sounds like a metric frick ton of rice. Hopefully it will clear up for you baws after this fiasco is over in a couple days.

Oh I don't think it'll be a total loss; quality can suffer but it's better than a loss. I think right now I'm counting my blessings that he didn't plant soybeans. Those babies will DROWN!
