yea, there is a lot of heavy rain coming from Morgan City on its way to Baton Rouge unless it does miraculously die out.

It's because they don't have enough info to predict crest yet and the know it's still rising if that helps you out

Rain has finally returned.

I'm out for a couple hours. Will fall asleep praying that this rain dissipates.

Apparently water is at florida/flannery. Not sure how accurate but people on the Nextdoor app say people are being asked to leave sherwood

Reading this thread is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I have a son living off Chocktaw, another living off Coursey, and a family member on the Amite by Port Vincent who won't leave. Friends on Aster drive in Walker, too. Don't know if that area is flooding or not but the flooding is close. And now more fricking rain. I've been watching the rain creep closer on radar for the last several hours. This is unreal.
I live in Prairieville and am fortunate to have not been flooded. I was waiting for Henderson Bayou to overflow...

I just left that area. It's full of water east of Little John.

I took a ride around my neighborhood. Made a full square from Goodwood to Sharp then Sherwood and then back home to my street. No water in the streets at this moment but the creek at Sharp Rd. is really high right now. Scary high.
And there is a ton of traffic on the road, so please stay safe if driving.

My brother is in the guard and they were activated 2 days ago. I texted him yesterday around 7pm asking where he was. He finally just texted me back an hour ago saying that they were on Florida St. He said a levee broke and it is unbelievably bad...

please help
First, see what the neighbors are doing and band together--that is your best bet right now. Get to high ground
Try calling these numbers--not sure where the rescues are located currently but it's a start

It looks like it will still take a while for that. I'd still leave the area while you can.
