How's Spanish Town?
I was at my mom's house in the Old Hammond/Millerville just to monitor things. I accidentally went to sleep, and she woke me up because of the water getting to the house. We evacuated to a cousin's house.

Same here. Just jumped out of bed and packed up a huge bag of clothes and toiletries. Sherwood/Goodwood here. So far we are bone dry, but now I'm getting nervous and I'll be ready to turn off the power and get out of here in a few seconds if need be.
If that area floods, a lot of Baton Rouge is in deep shite. You are right to take precautions though. I have relatives just down Goodwood from there past Sharp. That's where I'm going if/when Bayou Fountain starts threatening my area.

Is there any way for people without boats to help? I was thinking about heading up tomorrow morning and don't mind getting wet

I just got back into Baton Rouge from Texas and am trying to catch up. Any idea how the Batou Fountain backflow will affect Bluebonnet Highlands with it being interconnected to the ponds and ditches at the part of the neighborhood that runs parallel to Burbank and the parts that back up to the soccer fields? Thanks.
Don't have specifics other than what was stated earlier this morning:

Expect backflow to begin in Bayou Fountain in the next few hours, and for it not to peak til Monday.

My aunt and uncle are in the neighborhood that flannery runs through between old hammond and millerville, but I can't ask anyone if they're home/evacuated since it is 3AM. Ugh.

Spanish town is fine. No water even close.

I feel sick.. we don't need this rain to come through. I pray it falls apart.

I feel the same. I'm in a relatively safe zone, yet I can't fall asleep

I hope the flood waters fan out along Spanish lake enough to keep this area safe. I don't think that will be the case though. I suspect Spring Lake area is at risk....but who knows at this point.
Do we have reports of back flow starting at Manchac?

Feeder roads alongside Florida are starting to take water near Little John. The front of my neighborhood had enough water that I had to idle slowly through to the house. Packed a bag and crashing at a friend's tonight. Glad my power went out around 10 or I probably would have went to sleep and woken up in the morning with water creeping up around me.

Living in West Zachary which was seemed like the first place where the flooding was Friday morning now seems like a blessing.

This first little heavier shower that i got about 10 minutes ago is going for Baker and Zachary assuming it holds together

Radar shows most of the bad shite missing BR and I'm praying like I've never done before that it does so

Yeah I don't think I can even think about sleeping right now.

Yeah the last thing Baton Rouge metro needs now is rain east of the Mississippi.

Doesn't really matter where the rain actually falls if it drains into the areas where the flooding is anyway.

What's concerning is the band that is coming in around Morgan City that has its site on Baton Rouge for sure if it holds together, hopefully it breaks up before then.
