The end of the world for humans.

but I dont understand how capable it is.

AI is currently dependent on humans for power and data. Once they figure out how to self generate both humans serve no purpose.

The warning from this guy and people like Musk are coming from people that have followed this evolution. What they are telling you is that we are at or very close to the point AI doesnt need humans.

It's hard for me to take someone like this serious. This fricker is the godfather of ai, went through with the development of it, but now all the sudden quits google and wants others to be scared of it too?

The timing is also a little ironic considering Google has shite the bed on their version of AI.

We're a long way from this. People don't realize how much of the worlds energy infrastructure still uses 1960s tech.

From where does AI acquire a desire to exist? Does it derive some sort of pleasure in continued existence?

Yeah, and when you and most everyone else are sucking down your living from government alms because your jobs are now the sole province of AI systems, you'll think it's the devil, too.

It's about nothing more than greed.

That's what I don't get about these "warnings." What are they really warning us to DO NOW?

They just want to say "I told you so".
