KABUL, Afghanistan — Three American soldiers were killed on Tuesday in an explosion in Afghanistan, the United States military said. It was the worst loss of life in the country for the United States this year. Three other soldiers and an American contractor were wounded.

The deaths took place near Ghazni City, in the southeastern province of the same name, from the detonation of a roadside bomb, the military said in a statement.

It is really time for us to

6 Trillion dollars. But the republicans get rustled if you want to invest 30 billion in the US economy.

Because the 9th US General in command there says we're right on the cusp of victory.

If the early 80's Soviet Union couldn't do it, what makes us think we can do anything? With today's optics and rules of engagement?

Get the frick out of there.

Damn, we can wage war on another continent for decades but can’t even defend our own border.

Still a shithole country. When the US pulls out it will collapse and the Taliban will take over again in a month.

Much different media attention at this point compared to the ending of Vietnam.

Nam was deciding elections. I am not sure Clinton or trump mentioned Afghanistan once

Yeah, except no. We're still there because we're the bottom block in a game of Jenga. The whole place is destabilized and we don't have a way of removing ourselves without creating a complete shitshow vacuum of power in the region.

And Vietnam is actually a decent place today. Afghanistan will sadly never be decent.
