KOMO News 4 Documentary

I'm really surprised no one has posted this KOMO TV Documentary on death of downtown Seattle.

Someone has somewhere on this board. Can't remember where. I've bookmarked it to watch.

Allow rioting and looting to happen, and this is the results. Liberal cities are now going to take over the entire nation

This is a lie. I've been told by several posters on this very board that downtown Seattle is just as vibrant and friendly as it's ever been.

Forget who posted it when I moved to the area and warned me, but watched it anyway. I absolutely hate going into downtown Seattle now that I'm in the area- bums everywhere and 98% of people are wearing masks when walking/riding bikes/driving. Haven't even gone to capitol hill yet, but don't see a need as there's great food in the surrounding areas. People are cold here, act friendly on the outside but want nothing to deal with you after the fact (look up the Seattle freeze). Great outdoors stuff nearby, but have been avoiding the city at all costs.

This is an excellent program and solid reporting. It’s happening on a smaller scale here in Olympia. There’s a podcast called “The Outsiders” that is 10 episodes long and takes a deep-dive into the issues here in town.

It sucks. I’ve watched this town take an absolute nosedive beginning around 2005-06.

It's a damned shame. We went to Seattle back when for the Washington game, stayed for a week , and had a blast. Lots of great things to do, the market, pretty good restaurants, scenery, it was great.

My older daughter, for reasons known only to God and to herself, is a Seahawks fan. Fall of 2019 as kind of a dad-daughter senior trip she and I went back for the Saints-Seahawks game and had a blast again.

Looks like we did it just in time, because now it's a shithole. The people who allowed this to happen to Seattle, and other great American cities should be brought to account.

With the noose.

Really good doc. Hopefully enough concerned citizens get off the sidelines and start voting.

And why is that? Of course everyone here would say politics, but I assume it's a bit more complicated than that.

They won't. The city is being run exactly as they want it to. Either they're wealthy enough to not care, or they directly benefit from the socialist city council.

Everyone else has moved out.

Well, the friendly part is true since it's never been particularly friendly.

A combination of things. A city council that would not enforce the current laws, the influx of cheap Mexican heroin and the opioid epidemic, rent and COL skyrocketing, etc. I’m not sure the ship can be righted at this point. It’s sad. And even though I’m liberal, the KOMO program is spot-on.

I posted it before. But you should watch the video " Seattle is Dying" also by KOMO. It was made in march 2019 and it really exposes the reality of life there. It features an interview with a noted criminal who was a frequent offender who rarely received any punishment for his blatant crimes.Travis Berge, had at least 35 felony convictions or arrest in 4 years.

When asked what he thought the police and legal system should do with him he bragged that they had exalted him.

He recently killed his girlfriend by beating her and either putting a screw driver or nails into her skull. He had recently posted about how he loved to beat her and show off her black eyes and such.

He killed her around September, then holed up in a maintenance building in cal Anderson park and killed himself by drowning in a small vat of bleach and water, while the police surrounded the building
