People don't care about the long game though they are only worried about some fear mongering fliers thrown around on Reddit and other boards that were probably put out there by ATT, Verizon, Comcast, Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. all working together to create the fear of what a world without NN would mean.
Google, Facebook and Amazon are on the opposite side of this debate from ATT, Verizon and Comcast.
Maybe I'm misreading this thread, but it seems like a lot of the people in this thread think that the big telecom companies are pushing for more competition. They are not.

The other thing I bet happens is if NN stays...ISP's triple down on data caps.
So essentially it turns into the end game being either way the consumer is screwed.
Like I said earlier we need to focus on local regulatory reform.

Google (Alphabet) will benefit from regulation under title ii, small business will suffer.

How? Be specific. Give us examples of how the current regulatory framework has stifled competition and innovation in ISPs.

Uh huh.....I'm not so sure. Where is the outrage that they showed back when this was going on the first time. Sure maybe Amazon slowed down some stuff today (or said they did....they certainly didn't on Prime Day

How about what Comcast has already been caught doing at least twice in secret?
Caught and fined appropriately. All without Title II regulation.
You people seem to think that it's the wild west out there without Title II regulation.

and like you said earlier, that is not going to happen. NN is the best we have and it is working.

I disagree. FCC has been clear this will be handled case-by-case, and has done just that since NN was implemented. See Comcast/Time Warner as an example.

Did they give the rubber stamp to Cox's recent hard cap??? I mean I know that the FCC is in big telecoms pocket but it seems like in that case we would want to give the FCC less control not more right?

The other thing that interests me here is will there be protesting from the right people when NN goes away and ISP's and internet service in general go south, if in fact it does. (I'm sure it will go away....there is no traction on keeping it from the people other than the few on message boards)
This is an issue that could produce meaningful, actionable protesting...not like BLM, Antifa, etc.

they were not "fined appropriately"
they settled a fricking class action law suit for 16 million dollars when they are a 34 billion dollar company
hardly a blip on the radar, and certainly not something that would prevent them from doing something shady again
i mean, you're arguing in favor of Comcast. You act like this is the only time they've been sued.

As a Tennessean, I'm not as familiar with Cox nor what they've done as of late. A quick google search tells me that this is very recent. I'd like to think your question will be answered once NN has been addressed, if not before.

Cox is just fighting back to the cord cutters, Unfortunately nobody is going to cut the internet cord.

Conservative boomer logic
We had the internet for 20+ years before NN and that didn't happen.
I'm not saying it will never happen, but it's hard to convince the average person it's an important issue when they didn't see a visible difference with NN.

I've demonstrated far more than you.
I'm trying to see beyond the simpleton points you read on reddit and look at the further reaching affects of title II, which you are probably unfamiliar

I'll bet some of these folks believe the internet has never existed without it.
