Rottenborn got some good shots in... was able to admit some more unseemly texts into evidence... but still nothing that proved he was violent to Amber

So, bad call to put him back on in rebuttal?

I would say the other witnesses who testified today more than covered for whatever deficiencies he showed on the stand

Elaine has been purely horrible across the board. Not only is she unlikable, her entire team is disorganized. The male attorney that works with her isn’t any better. Heard isn’t an easy client to represent but Elaine did her no favors in her representation.

The witness that testified about the photos being shopped looked like he wanted to jump out the witness box and strangle heard’s lawyer. There were moments when Depp turned and looked back at him as well. Never seen Depp move that much this whole time.

Poor guy was trying to be like Camilla but failed miserably.

My wife said something pretty telling today about the differences between the two groups of experts.

She is binge watching the coverage with the semester being over and her view is that AH’s group all seemed be lacking polish, charm, and being comfortable “in their own skin”.

But she followed that with “this is the difference between being able to hire solid experts and having the power to get the best in the industry, regardless of cost or other commitments.

I don't know. He had a really heartfelt explanation of how it felt to be accused of horrible things he didn't do. It seemed very genuine and had to go over well. Don't know if said this earlier in the trial though.

I don’t think Depp hurt himself at all, the text was meaningless, it was the same as if the attorney was saying “he said mean things about my client in a private text to his friend,” completely irrelevant to the subject of the suit, imo

there are 3 lawyers who now do legal analysis on YouTube who have been in the gallery... DUI Guy+, Runkle of the Bailey (who's a Canadian lawyer), & Law & Lumber (who lives & practices in Fairfax)

all have given their opinions on the jury's body language

DUI Guy+ has been in the gallery everyday for the last week or so

another 1... Good Lawgic was also in there 1 day

YouTube - DUI Guy+ shows his O-face in the gallery when the TMZ ex-employee burns Elaine today

Reminds me of Omar on the stand in The Wire:

ETA: someone already posted the reference. Here’s the link.

You got the briefcase, I got the shotgun

It didn’t make him look good.

And his inability to recall hurt him. How can he remember if he hit her when he can’t remember twelve other things he said/did when drunk or high.

I didn’t see the whole thing, but my gut is it was a mistake to put him back on.

ETA: I also thought photo guy fell a little flat.

there was a message entered into evidence today while Johnny was on the stand that was insinuated as a text sent from Johnny that he couldn't remember sending... and he's readily admitted to all other texts he's sent... even if they were unseemly

1 thing that the streamers noticed but not said in court was the log showed that message as "incoming" while all other texts entered previously were "outgoing"

the streamers were confused as to whether that was a text Johnny actually sent or was sent to Johnny

It was a little weird.

At some point he said something like “I can’t indulge you any more with yes or no questions.” It came off pretty assholish.

And the whole denial of “I take the P I want” was bad. He said “I would never have the hubris to say that.” Then her comes a text where he says just that.

Heard can get up in closing and say Johnny can’t remember shite when he gets drunk. How can he possibly know what he did all those times he was zonked out of his mind?

that goes back to the question of "wait... who actually sent that message?"

like I said... Depp had previously admitted to all messages... no matter how unseemly... yet he was visibly stumped by those

and the message with a "Molly" named... there been no evidence of a person named "Molly" anywhere in Johnny's past (yes I know the drug Molly... but I don't think it was referencing the drug)

it was the 1st time he was visibly confused by something

Meh, you law baws can’t have everything your way all of the time I’ve been on the stand a time a time or two and something similar to the opposing attorney, something to the the effect of “this is not as simple as yes or no,” or “I’ll answer the question completely, not the answer you’d prefer to hear,” no admonishment from the judge

That puts a different light on it. I only saw pieces of his original testimony.

It still makes me think maybe they shouldn’t have called him back, though.

Johnny admitted to the "flappy fish market" text (ETA: even said he was happy his mom wasn't alive to see him admit to sending that particular text)... but could not remember the other 2

look at the "direction"

ETA: yet Rottenborn contended... without challenge from Depp's table... that those 2 "incoming" messages were texts sent by Depp
