The closest star to the earth is 24.79 trillion miles away. That’s 24,790,766,221,440.

Excluding the Sun, Proxima Centauri is the closest star and is 4.22 light years away from Earth.
The speed of light is 186,282 miles per second.
Check my math.
Edit: Sorry, checked my math, trillion not quadrillion. Still very very far away.

Ha, I'm not attempting that in my current state. I'll believe your math

Good thing we’re only 93 million miles from our own star. You thinking of a road trip?

Figure out how far away from hell you are, and then how to get there.

That gif always cracks me up. Always.

Meh Elon Musk will get there in 8 hours very soon.

I came up with only 92,900,000 miles to nearest star.
So, 0.000015844 years for the light to reach earth
So, 0.000015844 years for the light to reach earth

The deficit is getting out of control now, looks like made up numbers....

The number you put in is trillion...
Posted on 4/12/20 at 2:12 am to bhtigerfan
You only got 24 trillion there...
You need 3 more zeros.
You need 3 more zeros.

I’m not going to waste time in checking your math when you can’t even count correctly.
The 14 digit number you posted is 24,79 trillion.
You’re still off by 975+ trillion just to get to ONE quadrillion.
Next time, show your work.

Speed of light= 186,283 miles per second.
186,282 x 60 (seconds) = 10,936,920 miles per minute.
10,936,920 x 60 (minutes) = 656,215,200 miles per hour.
656,215,200 x 24 (hours) = 15,749,164,800 miles per day. (15.740 billion)
15,749,164,800 x 365 (days/1 light year)= 5,748,445,152,000 miles per year. (5.748 trillion)
5,748,445,152,000 x 4.22 (light years) = 24,258,438,541,440 miles. (24.258 trillion)

Venus has been starting in the WNW sky early evening and then moving N throughout the night for the past month. Very bright in the sky

We didn't win because we had to land colonists there by this year.
