I hate when it gets dark at damn near 9 pm in summer. People act like normal time it gets dark so early. It’s because we only do it in fall/winter when it gets darker earlier anyways. If we had it all year, it would get dark at 7:45 or 8 pm in the summer which is completely reasonable. Frick DST.

I think I probably prefer standard time because my profession is an early start one and it feels more normal to me, but either way, It would fit me better if there wasn't a twice a year change.

Getting light at 4am is ridiculous. Daylight hours from 5am to 10pm is more reasonable. The northern latitudes need DST. If we have to pick just one, we have to choose DST.

No, we need to have standard time because that is the real time.

We are back in standard time today, thank goodness and it feels so right.
Changing the time in the spring must be stopped!
If enough people speak up, we can get rid of that stupid daylight savings time.
There is nothing worse in the world than it being daylight at 8:30 PM during the summer when it’s 95° and 90% humidity.

People don’t understand this because most on here live in the deep south so it’s not as drastic of a change. For instance, if we were on standard time year round then Nashville would have sunrise at 430am during the summer. Civil twilight (when it’s light enough to see outside without lights) would be around 3 am.

Not happening. If we pick one, it will be DST.

No. Nothing about sunset @ 5:19 is normal

I'd rather keep changing the clocks than have permanent DST

Standard time is complete trash.

I hate it getting dark at 4:30. I’m used to getting home at 5, do yard work, relaxing outside hanging out with my family. I see no reason why it has to get daylight so early. It’s unnecessary. All you gonna do is work- not like you’re doing anything fun. Folks that get early starts outside can just go to work an hour later. Most of them are off at 3 as it is.
But to end the debate, spring forward 30 minutes and call it done.

But if we stop dst the crops will miss out on the extra hour of daylight and production will fall. Famines incoming.

If you're going to argue this then you need to throw your clocks in the damn river.

7PM? Come on, Mr. Rogers.

Its the summer and there is simply more daylight in the 24 hours.
80% of the bitching about standard time is just the fact its winter.

If it gets dark at 430 and you get home at 5, you're only going to have half an hour to do all that by keeping DST.
I'm not necessarily saying you are doing this, but too many people argue for permanent DST by promoting the positives of summer and the negatives of winter. No matter what is done, less daylight hours is just going to suck. It's unfortunate in the south because this time of year is typically the best weather we get, and we get less time to experience it.

Yes it’s so great. Get home from work and eat dinner and it’s too dark to: ride bikes, throw the ball in the yard, go for a walk without a flashlight, do 30 minutes of necessary yard work, etc. Some days I work “late” and it’s dark before even getting home. Unless you’re a vampire your not making any convincing argument that it’s a good thing.
We hardly even had any good weather too
