There’s no cases in Alabama there chief

Alabama is so far ahead of the curve that it isn't funny. Here, when you get infected, you have to notify your parent, your sibling, and your significant other. That's three people right there.

In Alabama, you just have to tell one person.

Nearly 20,000 people are being tested every day for coronavirus in South Korea.

What about the private labs doing testing?

Any private lab could potentially perform the test. However, it just isn’t financially feasible. What happens if the labs take on the test after going through the expensive and time consuming regulatory protocols to validate the manufacturer’s performance claims and then, when all this hysteria has passed, no doctor is ordering the test? Those regulatory protocols are there for good reason. Think Theranos and Healthcare Diagnostic Labs snd other unscrupulous types that would criminally forego the necessary quality assurance and safety protocols to ensure the tests work the way the company claims it would. Also, NOT EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET TESTED!

At the presser yesterday that Gov. Edwards held it was stated that La. had no problem getting the test kits they needed.

You’re naive if you think there are not 1000s of people with it right now in your state.

This is just a lie.

The “testing” stuff is nonsense. If people were showing enough symptoms to need a test they should’ve been staying home to begin with.

It’s not like the test is there to be preventative since there’s no cure anyway.

The issue is not having 1000s of people with it, the issue is having 1000s of old people and those with compromised immune systems getting it and our healthcare system being overwhelmed.

Plenty of people get it and recover from it on their own at home, no different then the cold or the flu.

One of top infectious disease doctors in bama is a friend of mine. There are no reported verified cases yet, but testing just started so that’s about to change, or have you failed to notice all the Chinese container ships in Mobile Bay. (Lol)

As of yesterday Alabama had tested less than 20 people.

I'm sure that is Rachel Maddow's fault somehow.

Denver alone tested over 200 people yesterday via drive-through testing. I think other states need to adopt the drive-through testing. It was quite successful, and doesn’t discourage sick people from getting tested due to being around.. a bunch of sick people

The treatment for this is the same regardless of if the patient tests positive. So the lack of tests isn't a problem now.

We will need more testing to get a better picture later, but right now we have to focus on people treating their own symptoms - which really means staying home from work, avoiding crowds, getting rest, getting fluids, and some cough suppressant unless they develop bacterial pneumonia. If that happens, they actually need a doctor.

That's likely going to be rolled out soon.
