For some reason probably related to mostly peaceful protest videos I was thinking about the Indian caste system that I learned of in grade school.

I quickly got bored of reading about it.

One thing struck me though.

Everyone had a job. Even the untouchables.

No, you had a status not a job. This was always an issue in India and sort of still is. It is why you see so much begging in some places, since Dalits (untouchables) can't move into jobs, or the children of the rich will just live off of their parents.

That sucks. I don't think we have any more call centers we can export there.

Yeah and there was no real moving up if you're born at the bottom you're fricked. It's also why you have older Indians treating low wage employees like trash

Some of the stores in India seem to have more employees then people. Like a small section of a department store will have 2-3 people helping there. I think the government mandates it but there’s still a ton of jobless people.

I’m Indian baw. Many treat the backwards caste as they’re called like trash. Many are abused.

The Indian folks I know are all lovely people. If you ever get invited to an Indian wedding don't pass it up.

We went goose hunting out in far west Texas one time. The Indian people who owned the random motel we stopped at were cousins with the owners of the Best Western in our town.

Yeah, that's a pretty common name among Best Western and Choice properties. I used to sell to a lot of them in my last job.

All the guys around Baton Rouge play volleyball together.
