Mormons are usually great people, but are ignorant for thinking a cross dressing coward is the West version of Jesus.

Utah has one of the highest rates of anti-depressant use and has -by far - the highest suicide rate of teenagers.
It also has one of the highest rates of porn use (which is a big no-no in the Mormon church).

Like if you were discovered to be married to more than one wife you’d be kicked out, is my understanding.
Did you know that the current President/Prophet of the Mormon Church is sealed (married) to more than one woman - yes, if Mormonism is true (and its not), this guy has two wives lined up for him in the next life. In a way, polygamy is still practiced in the mainstream Mormon church.

The Book of Mormon is all truth.
Why mock it?

As you say, if you believe in the Mormon afterlife, he has two wives waiting for him in the afterlife. If you don't believe in the Mormon afterlife, it's difficult to classify him as a polygamist when his first wife died before he married the second.
I don't believe in any of that shite so I don't consider him a polygamist, but an argument can certainly be made that he considers himself one spiritually.

Why is polygamy wrong?
There's no good answer.

If warren jeffs taught us anything, it's child brides are still quite rampant. I'm not sure there is much sicker, except having multiple.

Warren Jeffs is not, and has never been a member of the LDS church.

Yeah seriously.
Jim Jones and David Koresh weren't LDS members either. They both formed groups to frick multiple women. Especially Koresh.

Still a Mormon any way you slice it. The word fundamentalist changes this none.
What is their religious text of choice... book of mormon by chance?

Religion is a tool to control people no matter denomination

I don't understand why these guys equate the LDS church with every fundy desert cult that practices plural marriage. Those groups originally split from the church because plural marriage was banned.

And? Are mainline Baptists responsible for Westboro?
And do you really want to go down the "they use the same book" rabbit hole in regards to the Bible?

I'm not sure Westboro practices any of the tenants baptism was founded upon... flds on the other hand does

Then this response doesn't carry a whole lot of weight.
There are a host of teachings that the FLDS church teaches that are diametrically opposed to the modern LDS church, like the Adam-God doctrine, no word of wisdom, polygamy, and the mark of Cain. They are not the same church. Sorry.
The FLDS has as much in common with the LDS church as the Peoples Temple shares with your average Protestant church.
They've been a separate church longer than they belonged to the LDS church.

Westboro Baptist Church originated as a branch of the East Side Baptist Church, established in 1931 on the east side of Topeka. In 1954, East Side hired Fred Phelps as an associate pastor, and then promoted him to pastor of their new church plant, Westboro Baptist, which opened in 1955 on the west side of Topeka. Soon after Westboro was established, Phelps broke ties with East Side Baptist.
