I went pretty often when it was Ricochet. Only once when it was Shadys. Watched people play beer pong, including drinking the cup with the ball in it, after it rolled around on that nasty sticky floor.

I went the first night Shady's opened, and they were having some kind of problem with the plumbing. There was two inches of piss/toilet water on most of the floor, but people were still hanging out in there. It was kind of surreal, and I didn't stick around.

They had issues with that bathroom almost every weekend

Not really true. It lasted a long time as Ricochets with 16 tables then they downsized to 8 tables and the laundry next door. Still went for awhile with 8 tables but eventually they focused on the Sherwood spot.
Playing pool and drinking is not cheap compared to Tigerland and whatnot, especially for college kids. Jack (the owner) just couldn't justify it anymore, but it had a very good run. Better than anything that's followed it

What happened to Shady's erecting a Jordan Jefferson sneaker monument?
You kids are probably too young to remember those crazy days at LSU.

Shady's had a niche going as the Thursday night place until the JJ issue. Bad pub put a nail in it, along with the fact that it was empty every night except Thursday.
The places since then trying to make it work are just throwing money down the drain.
