This could have been a good thread because 100% will agree that all NPR hosts have a ridiculous fake overly dramatic, over enunciated tone.

But let's just argue about politcal bias in journalism instead.

Lots of super serious podcast hosts do the same thing. That one about the Muslim kid who killed a classmate comes to mind.

I joke with my wife all the time about the inane topics and smug nature of the hosts. Everytime i would get in her car, NPR would be on and...talking about the lack of books by black gay authors in the Boston library system. Or cisgender normatives in greek mythology...but my personal favorite was

Reporter covering a french politician...a conservative anti-immigration gun advocate politician that was getting a crowd. In the reporters discussion of the rallys and the supportive base (typical "blue collar / agrarian / less educated" ...the reporter threw in a little quip about the politician "of course...being from the South...of France"

Fact deniers love saying this. Their observations, no matter how secluded and biased, become fact.

Another dumb trump voter.

That’s a sweet new melt, snowflake. Here’s a cookie for your repackaged “libs suck” insult.

The annoying "I'm so smart" NPR accent

The same accent that makes them go over the top with geographical names and such...for example it sounds like they are coughing out a hairball to pronounce Nicaragua.

It’s like you liberals have never been to an inner city to really see what a welfare nanny state cesspool looks like.

I used to listen to NPR a lot. Every morning in fact taking the kids to school and going to work. They used to be the only real objective source for news giving both sides of the story and not sugar coating much.

Most national news agencies have a definite bias in their reporting that is readily apparent in the first couple of minutes. NPR had a slight left bias, but not as much as I had expected from a publicly funded organization. They ran obscure news stories that you wouldn't hear anywhere else and frequently had interviews with truly fascinating subjects.

I'm not a Trump voter or much of a Trump fan. However, if ever something exemplified Trump Derangement Syndrome, it's what happened to NPR post election. Holy shite. It was like someone flipped a switch. They've become totally unlistenable. Their once objective reporting became attacks. Their once fascinating interviews became leading questions to obvious partisan guests trying to get an agenda across. I've never seen anything like it before.

Sorry for the rant. I just hate that my once favorite news source has gone away........

Well can anyone on here provide a meaningful statistic that shows the South isn’t dead last in terms of education and/or intelligence

Michael Savage really is intelligent, though. I disagree with him pretty frequently, but the man is no dummy.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that my sister and brother-in-law fart into glass jars to prolong their enjoyment. That is how highly they think of themselves.

It also wouldn't surprise me to learn that they had been swindled out of their entire life savings by traveling circus gypsies. That is how naive they are.

They are proudly supporting members of their local public radio station, got the bumper stickers to prove it.

NPR still has some good shite like Planet Money

what saved Planet Money was they allowed the social justice wing of their production to spin off into the indicator

the indicator is a SJW wasteland, typically

i'm listening to CDs currently but when i'm not, i have it on the local NPR station. it's still better than pop radio (esp bro country)

Excellent post. I agree because I used to love NPR, too. Today, it's horrible how slanted and dishonest they've become. Not to mention, almost every single story has to be framed by some SJW angle, race/gender/sexuality/climate change.

I even thought about starting a YouTube channel to go line by line through one of their shows simply to illustrate how manipulative they are.

It's disturbing that people are downvoting accusations of NPR bias. Either they're too blind to see it, or support deliberate disinformation. I suspect it's the latter.

Pull the funding.
