I still get grossed out by really obese people(but at least I get a momentary "oh thank goodness I'm not that person, at least my life doesn't suck that badly" boost to the self esteem when I see them waddling around). But obese children make me very angry at their parents. I see wayyyy too many of them now at work. It should be a form of child abuse imo if your child is obese.

I see how people get overweight. Your metabolism drops as you get older and if you aren't more active and really watch your diet you will put on the pounds. I've been in a constant battle with my weight since I can remember(I'm technically within a normal weight range for my height...but I weigh more than I did on my wedding day and would love to lose 10-15 lbs and that just drives my obsession with my weight through the roof). And I know people that are considered overweight that are really active and otherwise in great health.

I don't see how someone gets "I need a rascal scooter to get around" obese though. I'm freaking out over a 15 lb weight gain, I couldn't imagine waking up one day and being 100, 200, 300 lbs overweight.
