It's really easy to identify the fat pieces of shite that never got picked in PE class. Sorry you're an uncoordinated unathletic douche, but that doesn't mean everyone else has to be a pocket protector wearing queer like you. Sports can teach you a lot about how to work together as a team, handling failure, handling success, etc. Sorry you couldn't make the team and missed out on all of these valuable life lessons.
Sweep that leg, Johnny...

I did one tryout and when I left with my son, I said do you want to do this or do you want to go on a nice vacation every summer?
His choice, vacation!
He still plays baseball and has fun doing it.

I edited to include my whole comment. I still stand by that initial comment so tell me where I've backtracked.

What assumptions?
Again, I can't break everything down for you like a child.

i agree when talking about it related to "travel ball" which is an absolute joke. Parents try to "live through their kids" and have them playing year round which is awful for the kids development

No. That's not how it works.

There is a big difference between playing rec ball - where kids learn life lessons, get some exercise, and meet friends, and the obnoxiousness of travel ball. And it's the parents who ruin it... because they want to live their lives through their child.
i saw this after i posted and basically posted the same thing. I totally agree

It's their second chance to live the dream.
And that's the whole issue. Some of the kids just want to play ball and have fun in the summer while out of school.

We can talk private schools as well. I'll let you pick
Ok, I'll speak on private schools since I attended one. My guess is that you will not be prepared to speak on either.
I learned/understood the foreign language that I was required to take for two years just fine. I elected to give up the foreign language when I reached the college level, thus stunting my learning development of the language. My high school taught me well.
As far as the other part of your post. Sure. I never used a tutor. I don't think smart kids need tutors. If they understand their shite and can focus and do their homework then they wouldn't need a tutor. I was able to learn all of the material that my high school and then college taught me without requiring a tutor. I then self studied and passed two professional certification exams all on the first try, including all four parts of the CPA exam. I guess I did it wrong though.

Even the weird socially awkward gifted kids need to play sports. It helps them not become so, well, weird and socially awkward

There's no basis for that assumption. It makes me think you don't process information well. I went to a private school. A private school where our professors were required, at minimum, to posses a masters degree and most had doctorates.

Whether or not you used a tutor doesn't change how tutors are used. You're right that smart kids may not "need" a tutor but we then have to determine what the word "need" means. Need for what? Different children have different goals. It's a nonsensical statement to say that tutors are for dumb children.

Again, another example of the minutiae you get bogged down with. You're either being obtuse or you aren't very intelligent.

This entire post is basically another example of your struggling with comprehending the underlying sentiments of my posts. I can't can't walk you through everything.
And if you genuinely thought I was trolling, as you've claimed numerous times, your instance on chasing me around would say less about me and more about you and your continuing to get hooked.

If I ever have kids, I will not let them play travel baseball year round. I'm not sacrificing every single weekend and thousands of dollars for that.

Agreed

Not good either

Unless the kid is a tremendous athlete, you get to HS Baseball & you haven't played competitive ball, good luck.

I agree with OP for the most part, with a few exceptions. My brother in law played baseball in college and is now a high school coach. My nephew plays year round and the family rarely has spare time for anything. He is the #4 ranked HS freshman in Mississippi so there is some future to it with him even if it is "only" going to pay for his college education. I keep waiting on him to get burned out but he hasn't yet. I do know it costs them a fortune him to play year round like he does but they all seem to enjoy it, so more power to them.
