The 9-5 Model

Why is this still a thing? Nowadays, jobs are actually moving to 8-5 with a lunch that was previously included. Half of society is sleep deprived. Why not 10-6/11-7?

an hour lunch break is overkill and a waste of time...
shorten the break or not take a full break at all and shorten the workday completely.

It should be as long as the work gets done, what does it matter what time you come in?
Also, why are we forced to take a lunch? I much rather leave an hour early than have nothing to do for 50 minutes.

5-2 would work very well in my field
5-8 to focus on actual work
8-2 to try and get some work done but mainly dealing with emails, calls, meetings, etc
Working those hours would really reduce commute times as well

Also, who wants to be getting off at 6/7 at night? I would rather have a bunch of free time after work

I work 8-4:30....30 minute lunch
Thankfully my boss is very flexible and I can come in late/leave late or come in early/leave early for all my medical appointments for myself and my father.

8-4:30 is terrible if you have kids. Most schools won't let you drop the kids off until 30 minutes before school starts.
