Yep the 3.8L was a great engine. Had a ‘97 Lesabre with one and while it was no corvette, it was no slouch either. Great gas mileage as well: I saw 38+ mpg Highway.
The supercharged versions were great, too.

My '67 442...2 door, Burgundy w/ black vinyl top..black leather interior, bucket seats..would argue that contention.
