Long story short, while Im an opponent of government overreach and over legislation, this could actually help pave the way for recreational marijuana use in Louisiana down the road.

Louisiana is the worst state in the country for a reason. Well, many reasons actually.

It will never be, because the beer distributors like Mockler would never let it happen.

Rest of country is legalizing recreational use of real thc and here we are mine striping hemp products.

It's basically legal in Lousisana. Just get online and schedule a Tele Med visit to any out of state or in state doctor that's licensed and tell them you have anxiety. It literally takes 5 minutes of your time. Boom now you can legally buy

The prices look to be 4-5 times more expensive

Then don't buy it from them. That's your only option when they ban D8 unless you want to drive out of state

Every dollar counts for someone like myself on a rigid budget.

I can justify a one dollar gummy. Not sure about five dollars for the same product, plus telehealth fee.

In other words, if you want to do something illegal, big cities won't stop you. If you want to do something safe, legal, and regulated, it is a problem.

I use full-spectrum CBD along with Gabapentin for Restless Leg Syndrome. I order my CBD from out of state. If this passes, those companies will stop shipping here.

This is usually the line from people who kill a six pack or a bottle of wine every evening.

This bill is solely because of the bible thumpers that need everyone else to live under their moral code. I say this as someone who has never purchased a THC product

It’s a perfect storm of self interests working together to defeat this innocuous but increasingly popular product.

-Old fart Bible thumpers fearful of devils lettuce like it’s the 1960s.
-Alcohol lobby.
-Legalized/medicinal MJ lobby.
-Politicians getting paid by or otherwise seeking favor of the above.

And the market has spoken as to why it’s popular and it’s not because people wanting to get blasted or shitfaced, moreso to help relax, pain relief etc.

Like everyone has said, leave it to Idiotic La legislators to frick up a good thing.

Don't forget the law enforcement/prison lobby. Louisiana has the highest incarceration rate in the country and 111 jails to put them in. It's big frickin business and instead of swinging by the neck from traffic signals or clogging up wood chippers our politicians are cashing checks. Just pledge obeisance to Israel and give your thoughts on what you think a real woman is to profit off modern Republicans that are gatekept into being nothing more than mid 90s Democrats.

The Louisiana MM program is an utter train wreck. Prices are way too high and the stuff they sell is mids to lower tier. Not to mention the rights you strip from yourself when signing up.

Aren’t there only two licensed growers and not many options on where to buy? It’s a monopoly, don’t support that.

You are better off buying on street or ordering THCa online.

Not at all, I've never actually touched the stuff.

I'm aggravated about this because not only is it pointless legislation targeting a harmless product, I'm also aggravated that this stuff costs Republicans votes in elections that actually matter and they're too stupid to see it. The Dems are winning elections because these guys can't get out of their own way.

I might have misunderstood your original reply. I have a medical card, not sure if you do but if you do yeah I could recommend quite a few places.

If you don't have the med card it's pretty easy to get.

Understanding that their are political lobbies amongst various groups that or either for or against the use of Hemp and Marijuana and affect legislative voting, I purely speak from a tax perspective. One of the hardest components of marijuana/THC/Hemp laws is how the government/Dept of Revenue or Taxation can tax the product while not imposing to high of a tax burden (ie price point) to keep users away from the illicit market. Currently states are facing the issue of hemp products impacting the taxation of marijuana. If THC Hemp products are not available in Louisiana, then the path of taxation for recreational marijuana in Louisiana is easier. Source: I attend national Tax conferences focused on excise taxes with the heads of tax administrative departments from the majority of the states within the us
