quote:

Police arrested local day care workers who investigators say left a 4-year-old boy alone in a hot van for an hour.

The woman who found the child told Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes that the only reason why she saw the boy is because he kept honking the horn trying to get someone's attention.

She said the boy had taken off his shirt and his shoes and she could tell his body was overheating.

Unlicensed daycares are a disgrace.....at least this boy was smart enough to honk and got saved.

ETA: Corrected 4th grader to 4 yr old

Reminds me of this.

Christopher Gardner, Jr. was found dead in his booster seat eight hours after the van arrived at Ascent Children’s Health Services on Monday, June 12.

According to police officers, the surface temperature of the seat inside the van was 141 degrees at the time of the boy's death.

If he was really smart, he would have unlocked the door and got out.

Four year olds can’t reason according to most on this board. They willl also grow up to be assholes unless they’re spanked. DisplacedBuckeye told me this. He’ll grade your paper if you ask him to.

Sonif they had been licensed, it would have prevented this dumb mistake?

They're probably less inclined to leave a kid in the car on purpose.

this... we ( wife and I ) co-own a daycare and we have the to follow state regulations, which are a lot. Our daycare has a security door which parents have a code and we have cameras in every room. Yea you may save $100-$200 a month at smaller daycares that are unlicensed or worse which is home daycares .... but is it worth it?

Not really impressed. The only thing holding most kids this age back from doing the same or unlocking and opening the door would be that darn crotch buckle on the carseat.

If he was smart he would have figured out how to open door or hot wire vehicle.
