My entire family usually sits down for an unorganized meal, with some of us sitting in a dining room, some sitting in the living room, some sitting outside, and some not even eating due to who they'd have to sit next to if they did.

Then we play a lovely game of argue with the gay cousin over politics and religion, the aunts don't talk to the uncles because they feel screwed by the grandparents' will, and then we just sort of leave without saying goodbye. It's a great time.

No games. Just a lot of people trying to eat and GTFO after making their forced appearance.

Most of my family gets along, but there are two or three assholes that everyone just wants to avoid so we all just talk and hangout in places they're not.

We had an uncle that is a complete loser at life complain to my dad a few years ago that our family did Thanksgiving wrong. This guy, who has never kept a job a full year in his entire life, said that on Thanksgiving, everyone should be seated at a table and someone should bring a full turkey out and carve it at the table.

My dad prepares the turkey and carves it before it hits the table. And everyone just sits where they can. My wife and I sit in the living room to avoid my sister in law who believes she is a prophet. My two brothers (who live 500 feet apart) sit outside and avoid everyone.

I'm fairly conservative in my worldview but Fox News tells them how liberal college professors are. I see them twice a year and they are astonished that I am not a super liberal, but usually find something (last year it was we probably shouldn't shoot Mexicans when they try to cross) that they walk away thinking I am left of Obama.

My other sister in law resents everyone. She didn't go to college and she is the least successful of all of the "kids." Her daughter dresses like a skank and is proud of it.

My mother tries to keep the peace but between the jealousy of sister in law 1, the craziness of sister in law 2, and the over the top MAGAing from brothers, we just don't fit in.

My two daughters cousins on that side are skanky dressed teenager. Smart college student who always has to have a boyfriend present, and the only male - who aspires to be a plant baw.

We build an obstacle course that gets bigger every year.

We also build a 250’ zip line that does through the woods.

The kids will put on a talent show at some point as well.

We have fun on Thanksgiving.

I love these threads. I'm going to start a "So what's the family drama this year?" thread tomorrow afternoon.

Nothing beats my 40 yr old coke whore cousin that's aspiring to be a model and busted me out last year at the dinner table for unfriending her on Facebook.

Same game every year.

Currently, my crazy sister in law is mad at my wife because she wrapped green beans in regular bacon instead of turkey bacon. My sister in law apparently went through a lot of trouble to find turkey bacon.

I solved this drama by getting into my vehicle, driving 8 minutes to the grocery store and buying more green beans so that we could use the turkey bacon that was so much trouble to buy.

My niece brought her boyfriend home, who is a graduate student in Engineering. Him and I get along and its quite pleasant.
