Different world today Roger. Kids can't do the same shite they used to, people feel differently about it now. And they certainly react differently. I'd make sure jr. knows better next time and there won't be an issue.

That's the problem. Adults react differently to how kids act today. While my child is to blame for what he did, the adult was no better in the way he reacted. It's a lesson learned for my kid, but doesn't absolve the man for being an idiot.

I have too many of them. It's like World War 3. Bunch of kids running around terrorizing the neighborhood, with the mutt in tow. I can't even make any Disney ADRs because of so many kids.

I did this when I was younger, went to a diff neighborhood though. One of the houses we ditched called the cops, had a stern talking to from the cops, never did it again.

This has always been the predominant thought. It seems we expect them to act like mature men, which isn't fair IMO. Kids do crazy stuff, it's normal behavior for them.

By the way, there was a big case in Boca Raton where a kid AA knocked on some guy's door in a nice neighborhood and the idiot homeowner shot the kid in the back as he was running out of the yard. Claimed he feared for his life. It's kind of an extreme example but your neighbor sounds like a bit of a loose cannon.

Well we have since learned that one of my kid's friends had a bad ding dong ditching experience where a gun was involved. Crazy people nowadays. Definitely a lesson learned.

It is comical that grown men expect an 11 year old boy to act in anything less than "kid mode". They need to make mistakes and be punished by their own parents and learn from their mistakes. Because that is what life is all about. We all continue to make them as long as we live. Repeating them is the problem.
And I have made a ton and repeated a few. No one is perfect.

Not with this incident. But any person who pulls a gun on a child should either be arrested or have serious psychological examination.

This incident didn't involve a gun. Just an angry, threatening idiot. It was another incident that involved a gun several months ago. My kid wasn't involved with that.

I'm glad to hear this, Doc. If someone ever pulled a gun on my kid when he was in his pre-teen years I am not sure what I'd do. But I'd want the son of a bitch arrested.
