When I retired from the Navy in 2001 we moved and purchased a home on Bull Run. Was a great place to raise kids at that time. I went back a couple of years ago for nostalgia purposes and damn!!! That place has changed.

I don’t know if it’s actually in StG, but that decision would have been made before StG Supreme Court decision. Broome did her best to push crap into or nearby what would become StG.
It is and Broome had zero to do wih it. SHe was busy being a clown at another circus.

there was a doctor there doing the recommendations

That doesn’t seem to be a good thing.

I wonder what % of “patients” will get recommendations.

We should just legalize it and be done with it.

Nobody cares about marijuana anymore, or at least not very many people do, and most realize there are some legitimate medical uses for it.

by the way…I really have to hand it to the state legislature for the sleight of hand that has resulted in basically legal recreational use without the name. In true Louisiana fashion they set up an elaborate, cumbersome and highly restrictive medical apparatus and then year by year chipped away at it until it’s “pay your fee and buy your weed”…and everyone makes money because the supply is regulated, the price is regulated, the distribution is regulated and the demand is high (or will be LOL). It actually brilliant and I didn’t think they had it in them.

Compare that to a state like OK where dispensaries are on every corner, supply is unlimited, prices are low…and business is terrible.

for everyone here clutching their pearls, as long as it stays this way (high prices, limited availability, pharmacy distribution) it will be a robust business with none of the issues other states are struggling with.

today was a shitshow on O’Neal, but let the hysteria die down and go stick your head inside there I guarantee your opinion will change

After I posted that I went to digital maps at https://www.ebrpa.org/ , and it looks like it’s just inside the city of Baton Rouge. StG doesn’t cross Harrell’s Ferry road there, and land across O’Neil is still unincorporated. O’Neal there seems to be BR’s boundary. It is very close to StG and on the outskirts of BR (almost as far east as BR goes).

I live in a subdivison in Denham Springs and our subdivison is getting the same type of people in it. Girls who used to walk around the neighborhood for exercise haven't been seen walking for over a month. The sad thing is that the dealers and users are living in nice neighborhoods. You can't escape that culture. At least we don't have any apartment complexes that would eventually be turned into Section8.

I used to be part of a prestigious car club, and we did late night donuts on O'Neal. Am I the only one that thinks that area is on the upswing?

Don’t underestimate section 8 with rentals as well as other govt programs handing money out to help those who haven’t earned it actually purchase a house.

have you been reading this thread? So many old farts out of touch. They seem to think that the only people buying medical marijuana are felons and homeless. If they would see the prices these people are selling it for they would realize the degenerates they think are buying it cant afford it.

They've setup a system where it's basically a monopoly controlled by the state government. They control both the supply and the amount distributed by limiting both the number of growers and dispensaries under the guise of a "highly limited program" compared to other states. Prices are insane due to the limitations, and the pharmacies allowed to sell already had ties to LA politicians. Now since the 2024 session, licenses for growing have gone to private businesses with ties to LA politicians. In true Louisiana political fashion, nothing happens in this state unless the right people get paid.

For normal marijuana users it basically is legal. If you get caught with under 14 grams just get your ticket and pay $100 fine no matter how many times you get caught.

just like Canada. And in Canada, they’ve avoided the race to the bottom that results in shitty weed, shitty strip mall dispensaries (you like all the vape shops?…wait till you see what would happen here) and sleazy business practices.

I’ll take what we got. I like it. It’s good business
