Same, should’ve stuck with stick indices if they were going to have a date window. Or if they really wanted arabics then they should’ve omitted the date.

I agree. It is as if Rolex felt they were missing out on the squared case shape and went with a cross between the Royal Oak and a date just. My neighbor thought it was an April fools joke. I think its a miss but I guarantee people have already called saying they want one.
The baby blue daytona is a travesty but will be an enormous seller in Asia.
Happy to see the navy WG and green YG Daytona's return. Glad they cleaned up the sub dials on the green dial, I think the gold looks cleaner than the red tones on the original dial.
Patek continues to crush its lineup. 6196 is pure elegance.

A few more
Doxa Sub 250T GMT This was released a few days ago but it is one of the watches that intrigued me. It seemed like perfect travel watch for areas that are not 100% safe but not Cape town. I think the price is a bit high at $2500 for a Sellita caller. Not that they would but they could have made the watch with the Miyota traveler GMT, it would have been cheaper and more functional IMO.
F.P. Journe Chronomètre Furtif A watch that got more intriguing the more I learn about it, not that Journe would deem me worthy of purchase. A tungsten carbide case with tantalum accents and a very weird stealth dial. It is a watch I would love to see in the metal but likely never will.
Digging deep into their back catalog (1920s) Cartier has the Tank à Guichets. It looks vintage, maybe too vintage for me,
Tank Louis with an automatic
Tag leveraging their F1 sponsorship with an F1 Solargraph. Overpriced (as are all these trinkets) but the OG made a lot of fans for Tag.
IWC now has a 35mm Ingenier and some other new additions to the line, I'll hit those later
2 new Grand Seiko Springdrives Ultra Fine Acuuracy watches. +/- 20 SPY with platinum and Ti. With the required Japanese mother nature inspired dials.
Vacheron doing what Vacheron do: rolling in from Plan-les-Ouates to drag their salty Swiss nuts across the face of every other brand.
Les Cabinotiers ‘Solaria Ultra Grand Complication’
41 complications (the most of any wrist watch), 13 patents, 1521 parts, and 204 jewels.
Time Measurement (6 Total): 1. Day and night indication for reference city 2. Second time zone hours and minutes (on 24-hour display) 3. World time indication for 24 cities 4. Second time zone day and night indication 5. 3Hz tourbillon with silicon balance wheel (with high Q factor) 6. Civil time display module coupled to the base movement
Gregorian Perpetual Calendar (8 Total): 7. Perpetual calendar 8. Days of the week 9. Date 10. Months 11. Year indication 12. Leap-year indication 13. Indication for the number of the week within the year (ISO 8601 calendar) 14. Number of the day of the week (ISO 8601 calendar).
Lunar Indication (3 Total): 15. Astronomical Moon phase and age of the Moon 16. Tide level indicator 17. Spring and neap tides indication.
Astronomical Indications (14 Total): 18. Indications of seasons, equinoxes, solstices & astronomical zodiac signs 19. Position of the Sun 20. Sunrise time (according to the city of reference) 21. Sunset time (according to the city of reference) 22. Duration of the day (according to the city of reference) 23. Equation of time on tropical gear 24. Culmination time of the Sun (according to the city of reference) 25. Height of the Sun above the horizon (according to the city of reference) 26. Declination of the Sun, 3-dimensional Earth showing the latitude of the Sun in the North/South hemisphere 27. Sidereal hours 28. Sidereal minutes 29. Astronomical zodiac signs 30. Sky chart (according to the city of reference) 31. Temporal tracking of celestial objects.
Chiming Complications (5 Total): 32. Minute repeater 33. Westminster carillon chime (4 hammers & 4 gongs) 34. Choice of hour-only or full chime 35. Crown locking system during the chiming 36. Double-stop hammer system to limit rebound and optimize transmission of the hammers' kinetic energy
Chronograph (4 Total): 37. Chronograph (1 column wheel) 38. 60-minute counter 39. Split-seconds chronograph (1 column wheel) 40. Isolator system for the split-seconds chronograph
Additional Feature: 41. Power-reserve indication (outer disc at 190°)
Simply a tour de force.
Moer later.

Would not be surprised to see Verstappen sporting this at Suzuka this weekend, to compliment the special white livery and firesuit.

A few more leaning into the deep cuts
A live picture of the Journe that makes it look more usable
De Bethune DB25NC Monopusher Chrono
Chronoswiss Q-repeater one of the wackiest chiming watches I have ever seen
Chronoswiss Small Second Blue Orbit and Desert
H. Moser & Cie. Pop Collection
Ingenieur 41 perpetual
I end for now with another nut draggin', mushroom stampin' watch. Bulgari often overlooked as just a jewelry house is a watchmaking powerhouse. They are locked in eternal combat with Piaget in a watchmaking semaglutide battle, trading blows like immortal Deebo and Craig avatars in a Geneven equivalent of 126th Street and Normandie Ave. Tune in to see whether Kate Moss or Twiggy ultimately win.
Last year Piaget brought out the thinnest tourbillon watch. The Altiplano Concept Tourbillon was a mere 2mm thick. This year Bulgari claps back with the Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon at 1.85mm thick. That is barely thicker than two plastic credit cards. Your move Piaget.
Note time setting and winding are handled by two separate "crowns" that appear like gears.
In the vein of sports cars where less often costs more the featherweight titanium watch is just under $700k. This makes Ozempic look positively cheap.

Lange with a minute repeater perpetual

Panerai with a new Luminor case. 500m WR, 12% thinner and 15% lighter thanks to a new AISI 316LVM – 1.4441 steel, also 10% brighter Super Luminova X2 Shown in blue white and black sandwich dials.
Armin Strom One Week Skeleton Titanium and underrated watchmaker, their best work is skeletons and I don't like openworked watches
Bremont Altitude collection. They pissed everyone and their brother off last year (99% of those never considered a Bremont to begin with) but they have some pretty interesting stuff going on tech wise
Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Perpetual Calendar not sure if they are underrated but they are rarely discussed but make incredibly well finished watches
H. Moser Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic with frosted dials

I like the look of the silver and blue Nomos world timer.
But alas, it has MEX instead of CHI so I won’t consider it.

That looks about like it for the first day outside of some various Hublots and ladies' watches I skipped. There are a lot of small events around Geneve this week so more will come out. I have some thoughts but will let them germinate.
