Phi Kappa Psi, was already under investigation by Texas State.

All fraternity and sorority activities at Texas State University were suspended indefinitely Tuesday, one day after a 20-year-old student died following an event hosted by a fraternity that was already being investigated by the university. Matthew Ellis, a business administration sophomore, was pronounced dead Monday afternoon at an off-campus apartment complex. University President Denise Trauth said Ellis, a Phi Kappa Psi pledge, attended an off-campus fraternity party Sunday night. The University Star, Texas State's student newspaper, reported the fraternity event was an initiation.

Recently, fraternities across the country have found themselves in hot water after hazing incidents. In October, a San Antonio-area 19-year-old was charged in the hazing death of a Phi Delta Theta pledge at Louisiana State University. Matthew Alexander Naquin, 19, was charged with negligent homicide after the death of freshman Maxwell Gruver after a fraternity event. Nine others face less severe charges in the death. Earlier this month, Florida State University indefinitely suspended the activities of all Greek organizations following the death of pledge Andrew Coffee. Pennsylvania State University officials suspended fraternities and sororities from holding social activities during the spring semester this year after the death of Tim Piazza, a 19-year-old who died in February after his fraternity's initiation night, the AP reported. More than two dozen students have been charged. Investigators recently uncovered security camera footage that showed Piazza was given at least 18 drinks in less than 90 minutes, the AP reported.

Shouldn't they shut down educational institutions in general?

I swear these frickers are retarded.

A corpse CANNOT pay dues, dumbasses. In fact, a corpse will cost you a charter at the least and likely end up with you getting a BBC up the arse.

Best bank tiger: you’re an idiot. The academic side of the universities would do just fine without the fraternities. They are totally non-essential. You’re not one of those loony “shite down the colleges” conservatives are you?

Flavous. Dude.
Holding your liquor is the first rule of frat club.

The second is you don’t talk about it.

Is this some millenial shite, either on the pledge or active part? Wtf?

We hazed balls for decades with minimal deaths and now all of a sudden they're dropping like flies.

Millennial shite. I remember getting drunk at the bars, coming home at 3 am, drinking more, going to class at 7:45, come back and nap, work til 10 pm, go to the bar, repeat.

There's also living with a lifetime of guilt for killing a kid. But sure, lets focus on losing their charter.
