Over/under for number of days before something stupid happens? I say 1.5.

Some moron carrying something extra cool (vintage) shooting himself in the leg?

Kingwood already had (4-5 years ago) a CHL guy have his derringer slip out of his slacks pocket, hit the ground, and gut shot some old lady?

Are there restrictions on what you can carry? Meaning needed modern safety features? I see a lot of Tombstone enthusiasts "skinning their smoke wagons" on the doors of their cars or jackets, and capping their own thighs.

I may get a CHL one day, but open carry just ain't for me. I don't want bad guys knowing what I have?

1. Bad guys aren't following you specifically or looking to see what you have. If they're on scene they are there to execute their plan. It won't matter if you open carry or not then - it only matters that you get your gun in the fight to kill them.

2. Local LEO in my area was killed not long ago - at the gun range - during weapons clearing. Police are out there taking every opportunity to shoot everything and everyone. One of them went to shoot a harmless dog and ended up shooting a woman and killing her. And all you got is some guy from 4-5 years ago?

3. In your list of fears you should first be worried about bad guys with guns, then bad cops with guns, then a regular citizen with a gun.

4. I strongly doubt you have any idea what you're talking about with regard to "needed modern safety issues". You sound like one of those people that freak out when they see the hammer cocked and locked on a 1911.

Did they have to look under the tumbleweeds to find the dumbest, most hick sounding narrator to do that PSA?
I thought it was Jeff Foxworthy trying to imitate Larry the Cable Guy.

Cops make up crap all the time. NOPD will confiscate your gun, just on general principle.
Obviously, they don't dare go down in the hood or anything.

Open carry is a disaster waiting to happen in Texas. Alabama became an open carry state a few years ago. The death toll here is in the millions. I've personally been shot 23 times just this year alone.

Well to be honest 17 of them were from me skinning my smoke wagon when getting on my motorcycle and shooting myself in the thigh. I've put my right leg through pure hell.

Millions of people conceal carry everyday and you had to reach back 5 years to come up with an example of something bad happening. I bet somebody in Texas has died in the last hour from not wearing a seat belt.

Pump your breaks numb nut. I was mainly speaking to the age of the weapon and choice of it for CHL and this guy carrying it like Doc Holliday at a card table. I am pro CHL. And if you read the rest of my post you'll see I said I may get a CHL one day.

Just questioning how long before open carry has an issue? Or some dude with some scratch carrying a vintage Colt 45 cocked or half cocked and something negative happening.

Open carry has been legal in Louisiana without a license for as long as I can remember. It's a non issue

look at the states that have already been open carry for years. What issues are they having?

And for the record, I've been a CCP holder for over 20 years and carry virtually daily.

Your lack of hysterical pandering has been noted.

Wrong. I was mainly referring to vintage and showcase weapons. This IS Texas. Some guy somewhere will go Judge Roy Bean and carry some vintage weapon, snag it on something and blast his pinkie toe.

But pigeon hole me into the anti gun crowd if it makes you feel better.

I would think literally carrying would be better.

What if you get in a spot w/ weak wi-fi?
