Some disagree with this logic. Some say the years and man hours of appeals actually make it more expensive.

The article states "In 2015, the state (Texas) carried out 13 executions, nearly half of the 28 across the country that year."

Not sure if we really saved much money on only 28 people when you consider how much cost went into the process.

Obvious evidence he was guilty. Justice served and I hope his family has closure now.

Any idea on why he decided to start a gunfight instead of a ticket for illegal hunting?

Dude dumped a mag, went back into truck reloaded and dumped another one. He deserves to die...... He deserved to die the night he did that.

Executed him early in the evening.

This. Hell. I got caught with a couple of deer in 91. I took my lumps and went on. WTF? He didn't even have anything. The deputys last words on the video was god damn.
