It'd be nice if they could at some point introduce a consistent profit

but I'm entirely against it being mandatory or even favored through law and regulation.
I'd have to read the thread again, not even sure how the conversation got to here, but that discussion about it being mandatory is many decades away IMO.

Should be never, is the point.

Your language in these posts indicates you want it mandated since we all suck at driving so bad.

I just dont want a daddy so hard, that's all.

We are going to wake up one day and the company is going to be bankrupt and the stock is going to be trading at $3.

Why wouldn't you support something that would reduce traffic accidents and fatalities by 99%?

Thinking about where we were 100 years ago, I'm not sure any of us can safely say it should not be ever, that seems a bit much IMO.

I've made my posts extremely clear. Not sure why you felt the need to insinuate anything since my points were very clear and concise.

I've said very directly we're nowhere near close to a car that can drive on all roads without a steering wheel. I said, whether it's mandated or not, we're many decades away from a world where it was even possible for all cars to drive on all roads without a steering wheel. What part of that led to your insuation, I'm not sure, but that's on you.

I don't know what that means, but ok.

What if I need to drive my truck in a field or put a boat in the water?

Then you buy a truck and a boat, and you drive your truck and put the boat in the water.

Prisons keep people super safe from outside threats too.

Look, I love the tech, I'm all for it.

I'm also against all the laws and rules the big 3 have put in place to protect their marketshare, and that MAKE it so hard to turn a profit for companies like Tesla.

I just dont take the extra step and beg for government to protect me at every turn.

How does one accomplish this without driver controls?

Your truck will have driver controls because you will have bought a truck with driver controls.

Agreed. Not every driving task will be eliminated, but the for most of us your 1-2 hr total commute time per day will be drastically decreased by an increase in efficiency of movement of vehicles. It really is going to be a revolution of transportation for mankind.

I think you could convincingly say never. There's certainly enough of an opportunity cost argument to be made here.

Tesla is amazing, but there should be 50 or 100 Tesla type companies. There is only one because it takes extraordinary buy-in to even think about doing what musk did, and that's largely because government is in the way.

ETA.

I'm vaccinated and so are my kids.

I dont think the government should mandate them.

If you choose to use public schools or private schools that require vaccinations, that's a choice you have to make. But you should be free to make it.

If there was a private option, sure.

I'm against public schools AND public roads, but that's just the crazy need for consistency I guess.

Freedom in all things. Govt is monopoly on force.

So except for the non option of private roads here... I agree with this snarky reword. :)

why can't people separate the technology and the business when it comes to Tesla?
