I thought I would chime in since I was at this years French Open in Paris. In lieu of the Charlie incident I thought security would be crazy. It was an absolute joke. The first day I went through a VIP section since I had a package. No real security, no one checked our bags, nothing. Granted we were white so they may have changed if we weren't. The second day we went through the General Admission and while there were people checking bags, there were no metal detectors, no K-9's, just some dudes checking bags in a complete and total disorganized fashion.

I'm sorry, but you're very wrong.
You do realize that 128+ died yesterday in a gun free zone correct? Statistics are excellent and I support them. My point is not over the past however long, my point is relative to the future that we live in. Please re-read my point. Quit letting a political bias affect your comprehension skills.

Was that person on the ground at the door using their cell phone?

there is a minuscule black population, which is all that matters in reference to "White privilege" (b/c those who promote the belief ignore asians as minorities in the US)

Which, as you said, would have occurred regardless of what the gun policy was. What does that tell you? Think about it.

Looked like it. I thought they were dead til the end when they started moving.

I think we've gone a little far afield from the point of the discussion, don't you? Paris has a lot of minorities and social tensions, obviously.

Paris/France is much smaller and more homogeneous than the US. Guns are merely a tool for criminals to use.

Me too. Was thinking that someone should get that person out of there.

Because conservatives without any sense of the social or political context in France want to make an issue out of a tragedy, that's why.
You may be right, but let's not act like this is isolated to conservatives when it comes to tragedies.
Turn on MSNBC after a mass shooting and see what happens there.

Yeah, maybe i dont... But Sandy Hook, Aurora, etc victims would tell you that you dont have the answers either.
To the best of my recall the only shooter to have obtained his firearms legally was Holmes (the Colorado shooting).
And this doesn't begin to even touch the greater issue which is inner-city violence.
The whole firearm argument, especially in this context (where all of the firearms in the France shootings were acquired illegally) is a strawman.

Really? Paris has one of the lowest murder rates in the world for a major city (1.0 murders per 100,000 people).
I'll yield to this point because I have no time to investigate. It makes no difference when comparing to our country. I have no Idea when they banned guns but to do so at this time in this country would yield totally different results. Look at the results in our own cities that have banned guns.
There is no way to remove all guns from our society. The sad news for those that would ban guns is the good guys may comply but the bad guys wouldn't consider it.

Paris is not even a little bit homogenous.

You're right about that. I will stop with the gun talk and focus on the tragedy.

only if you want to ignore that uncomfortable truth of the progressive meme of celebrating europe because of its "white privilege"
but if you want to go really general and whitewash the issues
the US has a problem with a large lower class of trash culture. this is not primarily composed of black people, but our black population engages in a this trash culture at a higher rate than other racial groups. the results of this culture include our violent culture and skews our stats on violent crime
europe doesn't have this same problem. they are much more culturally homogeneous, removed from the trash culture

I'm not sure how anyone can disagree with that.
I disagree with that. What those psychopaths used is the same that non-psychopaths have. You want an answer? How about leaving guns alone and dealing with psychopaths.
