I recently finished watching the 2nd season of Homeland - a little behind the times, I know. I thought of what Abu Nazir told Carrie right before he was killed: sic "that it might not be this year or this decade, it might not be this century or the next, but that Islam would defeat the west because they were simply more determined and devout in their beliefs"

Treating the refugees like shite is definitely not going to help. Again, even if you treat them like shite, I doubt they go radical, but their stupid kids will.
They need to be integrated as best as possible before it becomes a NOLA-type situation where you have generations of uneducated, morally-bankrupt trash breeding like rats. You have to integrate these people now so that they can become a part of decent society.

There were at least seven or eight when I graduated, I graduated with two. One of which dad had ties to funding the Taliban, no shite... I bet if you Google if you can find, but probably not.

I'm curious as to how those numbers translate to Istanbul, where they're from. Not disagreeing, just curious. I love my neighbors, as we're just Georgians doing life, not engaged in this nonsense of "religious warfare". All the pics I've seen of their recent trip to Turkey shows a family very reminiscent of "American Values"...standard clothes, standard kids playing in standard parks. The women aren't dressed in beekeeper suits, but normal clothes that you see stateside.

That just reminds me of a Turkish student I met at LSU 15 years ago. He was "devout" though really knew little about his faith. Much like young Christians. It is cultural, but I wonder if you came at him with verses if he would even know what to say.
