Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world and had a female president.
Compare that to Arab Islam

I'm sorry but that's simply not true. It's extensively documented and widely accepted that in the first few centuries under the Umayyad Caliphate that women could own property, businesses And remarry after divorce. It's not until later under the Abassids do these rights start to get stripped away.
Dont make broad deflective statements when you don't kno the specifics. You are levelheaded, and intelligent but too quick to make spurious claims.

Eventually you have to be willing to become ruthless to destroy ruthless men.

Yes he is... I think this is the straw that broke the camels back in Europe

I hate Fox News, but the french guy isn't afraid to speak the truth.

It's a shame it took this long.

Us it the guy that sounds American? In the hat?

Pretty much this is what happens when you let the barbarians move in your country.

No it was a red headed bearded frenchman that was on before that guy
Posted on 11/13/15 at 8:43 pm to lynxcat
No, the red head Frenchman. Talking about how he studied Islam and suggesting how to deal with them. And the antiterrorism professors at colleges are idiots for saying to let them back into Europe to study them and understand them.

People are people. Islam has billions of adherents. Is there an inherent flaw in the religion that breeds radicalism? Perhaps. But let's not dismiss the IRA, the Ethno-Religious cleansings in the Balkans and even the Buddhists terrorists in SE Asia. Are there more Islamist terrorists? Absolutely, but simply making sweeping generalizations about the religion and the billions of followers is invalid.
I agree with you about not being over broad on Islam, but the moral equivocations people bring up are just so stupid. The IRA as a truly religious conflict? Ethnic cleansing portrayed as faith-based? Come on. They only weaken your underlying argument (which I don't disagree with).

A political prophet said this stuff a few years ago. He was called a crackpot.
He has a great point, but how can you say this...
quote:
Nothing would please the terrorists more than if we willingly give up some of our cherished liberties while defending ourselves from their threat.
and then say this...
quote:
They don't come here to attack us because we're rich and we're free. They come and they attack us because we're over there.
FWIW, I think the first statement he makes is bullshite. It makes us feel good in hard times and helps unite the people, but it has little to do with why they attack us. Terrorist don't give a frick if the NSA is listening to our phone conversations. They attack for two reasons:
1) The foot soldiers attack because we aren't a radical Islamic country.
2) Those foot soldiers are brainwashed by radical leaders who hate us because we meddle in the Middle East.

Obviously not ALL Muslims are terrorists but the problem is almost all terrorist are Muslim, and the radicals enjoy a lot of support, and at the very least, non-interference, from the broader Muslim world.

The crazy shite to me is that this shite is all by the Sunni Muslims who I always though we less radical that the Shiite.
They are clearly as bat shite crazy as any Muslim Arab group. Saladin would be disappointed in them but then again he was a kurd.

Problem is those other terror groups are isolated. The IRA wasn't going to show up in Vancouver. The Buddhists are going to commit atrocities in Mexico City. Our new terrorist enemy is global, and no place is outside the domain of the jihad.
Definitely. Islamist terrorism is much more dangerous and prevelant as I said.
And even though it is rather easy for these radicals to use the Quran to justify these atrocities we can't ignore the socioeconomic factor.
If the ME was more economically stable you wouldn't see this. Now one could make the claim that Islam itself is what is holding up economic progress but I think that is rather bit too reductive.

Did yall already discuss the Salon article basically blaming the rhetoric of the American right for the Paris attacks?
