I heard someone say the attacks had ended.

The way I see it, radical Islam can not be defeated militarily. The ideology that exists must be destroyed and that is something that must be done within the Islamic community. That's not being done. Previously nation-states and organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood thought they could use radicals but increasingly they have become uncontrollable and are even threatening what use to be the more fundamentalist Islamic institutions.
