Not now, but you're in denial if you think that Christians haven't done some atrocious things in the past...in the name of Christianity.

How am I part of the problem? All I did was bring up religious hypocrisy.

Or do we get to pick and chose what we want to preach from the Old Testament?
That's the benefit of having the pope. A centralized, Catholic Church who gets to pick and choose what is the actual faith. The religion is defined by what the Chruch says. Perhaps Muslims should adapt something like that if they want anybody taking their "those extremists are doing it wrong" nonsense seriously.

Is this the part where you bring up the Crusades? Or maybe even those wackos who bombed abortion clinics?
Because those are pretty much equal to whats going on right now with Radical Islam. Yeah

I wonder though if Muslim violence is exacerbated by the fact that it's taking place in modern times with great communication and technology to commit the heinous acts. Not saying all religions are as violent, but many religions had people doing very violent things throughout history in the name of their faith. That isn't limited to Islam. Difference is Islam is the only one that hasn't grown out of it. I wonder what the Crusades would have looked like if rocket launchers and car bombs existed. Europeans used to lop of people's heads regularly. Burn you at the stake for being a heretic. Again, those religion grew in areas that became civilized, so the same did the people's actions. The middle east may never become civilized and now have access to spread their violence much furthe .

Pretty sure Christianity has evolved in a more positive way. Every church I've been to my whole life preaches love and inclusion and the members spend their time volunteering to help others in the community to make it a better place.
Not thinking the same can be said for your local mosque.

How many mosques have you attended

How many mosques provide free food and drinks to flood or other natural disaster victims?

You don't think that Muslim mosques help feed the needy and poor???

I'm not trying to bring up anything current. Just stating that I think radical Islam is making the case for the most violent religion of all time. But in the past, before we all became more civilized, other religions had violence committed in their name too. Would they have been as bad if a Christian from 800 years ago, who was willing to burn someone at the stake, had access to an airplane of people they felt were heretics?

No reasonable person denies this - Christian or otherwise.
I suspect your response was probably partially inspired by the dumb idea of bombing Muslim cities, especially holy cities - an obvious non-starter if you wanted to bring violence to an end? If so, I sympathize with that.

Did he deny Christian texts say awful things? We do have a worldwide problem with people acting on their interpretations of the Koran today. Most Chrisitans and Jews have pretty well abandoned literalists interpretations as a justification for violence.
Sure you can point to a nutjob who killed an abortion doctor a decade or two ago, but that doesn't compare (in a public safety sense or modern political sense) to the number of attacks in 2016 alone - more than a thousand attacks this year and tens of thousands killed.
We're waiting on a Reformation of the Muslim religion, an essential reformation to bring them out of the bronze or middle ages into modern society. A reformation that will mean massive changes in culture which might also be very destabilizing.

And while you keep waiting for that to happen, more die

If you inferred I want us to be passive in the meantime you made a bad assumption. Civilization has a right to defend itself from people that kill and rape - no matter what their belief systems.

You're just the last post in the thread. It's more of a general thought

You sound like a Notre Dame fan still trying to convince people they are a national power.
