So is everyone responsible for the consequences of their own actions except the US government?
You don't need motive. "Physically contributed"? Does giving weapons to groups who are committing genocide not count? We are playing the dangerous game of achieving a mission objective at all costs. That lack of foresight creates more problems down the road.

Let's not get into this "well he did it first" BS like that's an excuse. Seriously, we shouldn't have to use the logic of a six year-old to defend the actions of the leader of the free world. He's a big boy now.

But this is wrong. It just is. You don't understand anything about human nature apparently.

If I call you a bitch in person and you punch me, does that mean I'm at fault? Does that mean I contributed to you punching me? I might have done something to offend you. That doesn't mean you should have punched me and it doesn't mean I contributed to you punching me. You're the one who carried out the action. You're the one who made the choice. You contributed to your own action.
Ok, let's not equate the intelligence community/US government decision making as it relates to hundreds of thousands of people associated with an entire faction of a religion to you being offended by someone calling you a bitch.
They weren't "offended". They were radicalized. You don't become radicalized by chance. That's not how this works. I agree that everyone has a choice, but you're downplaying so much of this that it's hard to take you seriously.

Hence why I went even further and brought up the Byzantines.

What I'm saying is that the actions of founding ISIS aren't done by the US gov. There's no need to be responsible for other people's shite.

So it's the US's fault for 9/11? Okay. And it's my fault for being punched in the face.

I'm not downplaying. I'm simplifying it to an individual level. History is human. Every human has a choice of what life path to take and should be held responsible for every choice they make and action they take.

Tinfoil hat: was the attack foreshadowed on 4chan yesterday??
quote:
Details are still emerging about an attack carried out near the UK’s Houses of Parliament on Wednesday. As officials try to determine the identity of a suspect who was shot by police, a 4chan thread from less than 24 hours earlier appears to announce the location of the attack that has claimed four lives so far.
Shortly after the attack, 4chan users began speculating about a post from yesterday that seemed to reveal the attacker’s plan, worrying that its existence would lead to the site being shut down.
The announcement, posted at approximately 3pm London time on Tuesday, appeared on the site’s politically incorrect (/pol/) imageboard from a user with the ID n1SoXPxb—the only post by that ID across any 4chan board. The user is flagged as Danish, though they could have easily used a VPN to obfuscate their location.
The user posted a string of Morse code dots and dashes which translate to “gotoLINK That Pastebin page contains a simple binary code which, when deciphered, points to a GPS location near Big Ben, close to where the attacker reportedly crashed his vehicle on Wednesday.

I honestly disliked Obama for many reasons but I don't know what he accused Trump of doing that is on the same level as possibly using the US intelligence agencies to fix an election.
I'd like a link if possible. Preferably to one of the bigger fake news sources like CNN, Reuters, or ABC news. Tongue in cheek obviously.

Listen, we've provided a number of examples and facts as to the US involvement in the middle east that undoubtedly influenced heavily in the formation of ISIS.
We both can agree these groups aren't formed for no good reason, I hope.
So since the US had nothing to do with it in your opinion, what was it that spawned the creation of ISIS?

No hold on. Now you're saying influenced. I can agree with influence. The US did influence the creation of ISIS. The problem is that you're saying contribute and create.
We can both obviously agree that the US's involvement in the Middle East influenced individuals to do certain things. They didn't however contribute to their actions or create the actions themselves.

No one is denying this dude. But you act as though outside factors don't influence people's decisions. That just isn't true.

And it's my fault for being punched in the face.
if you call someone a bitch to their face, and they punch you in the face, yes, you should take some responsibility for your actions and share some blame. He shouldn't have punched you AND you shouldn't have called him a bitch. This isn't black and white.
You don't just get to do whatever the frick you want and then when folks react to it negatively say "well, not my fault. They made a choice."

This sounds like a really shitty and poorly planned attack. They're lucky but four are still dead. Condolences.

I retracted the word created probably 50 posts ago, including numerous ones replying to you. For once try to finish a post before you start furiously typing.

Gonna need a link on that cause I have a feeling the story is a little different than you are saying.

You and Sabi then used the word contribute. Don't act like you've been saying influence this entire time. All of those words have completely different meanings.

so you've been arguing semantics for an hour now. Again, I said many pages ago that created was probably the wrong term. But between arming them, droning innocent people, installing Shiite administration, and actively trying to protect US political interests with Israel via proxy wars....yea, that's a lot of smoke for there to be no fire.

contribute and influence have the exact same meaning in this context and in every other context. You're being ridiculous.

No it's not semantics. All of those words have completely different meanings. Influence is entirely different from contribution or creation. Your word choice is appalling.
Influence comes in many different ways though. It doesn't even have to be direct. Influence is the only thing I'll agree with because of how unspecific it is. People are influenced by so many things in life that agreeing that the US influenced individuals to create ISIS is as easy as saying that they eat sleep and shite.
You're just trying to cover your arse. In no context do the words contribute and influence ever mean the same thing. You're the one being ridiculous.
