Tennis racket question, got any good players here?

So I've picked up tennis again. I played competitively as a kid, quit when I was 16 or 17, but I never really got back into it outside of the random work leagues here and there as an adult. I have racket that I love to play with, it's a 4 stripe (Taiwanese) POG 90 that I string with fairly tight poly.
My dilemma is that I only have one. I can source another one, but part of me wants something modern. I swing very hard so I'm looking for something low power and built for control, but my game is centered around spin (I'd rather hit a well placed kick serve than a flat one) and I just feel like some modern would facilitate that. I'm 42...so swinging that POG around as hard as I can through 3 sets really takes its toll on my shoulder and elbow.
Enough, any recommendations for something that might fit my game? Just buy another POG and string it with natural gut or some other option?

Don't forget to take all the manufacturers logos off after you get it.

I keep my Taiwan sticker on it because they stopped making them there in the late 80s. It's cool to kick people's arse with a 30 yr old racket.

Any one in particular? I've only seen women pros playing with them recently.

Haven't played in awhile but went to the state tourny 3 times in high school. I rocked a Prince O3 with super tight pink strings to make everyone think I was a fairy before I served their arse off the court.

Demo a Yonex DR 98 and a Head Graphene XT Speed Pro
I had a little tennis elbow but I can make it through an entire match with both of these, and they both had great control on hard swings with adequate spin potential. Also, try a hybrid string set up. I added babolat origin crosses at a lower tension and they soften any racquet up over a full poly set up

Strangely enough a Prince White, may be an O3, is my back up now...though I've never hit with it (it's the wife's that I bought for her, she may have used it twice). I just got it restrung with PSG in the event I have to use it.

Need more info. Top spin, flat, like head heavy, like balanced?
I just tested a head extreme pro xt and liked how it felt. Don't fall for the lighter is better trick though.
Mass x velocity still matters and I've found the modern strings and lighter rackets hurt my elbow more.

Damn, the description of that racket sounds perfect. I thought I was just going to get the usual bullshite from this board. Thanks for the recommendation.

Head Graphene takes my tennis elbow out of the equation as well.

The Prince Graphite Classic is on the light side so if you aren't using really good form it's likely contributing to your tennis elbow. I'm currently playing with a sub 11oz racket and am switching to a slightly heavier model.
The tennis elbow issue did help me clean up my form though (weight transfer forward into the ball).
Make sure to move your damn feet. At our age, our feet can get really lazy.

You're spot on, being even a little out of position with a one handed backhand can put tons of stress on your elbow. I end up hitting 3-4 shots a match that really hurt, and then it's just aggravated. Being late absolutely makes the one handed backhand painful, and I know I should slice those but my gut reaction is to come over the top of everything. Painfully so.

I've tried the two handed back hand. Imagine if Obama tried to play tennis. That's what the results were. Looked like a damn grandma lobbing the ball 40 feet over the net.
I cannot figure out that shot to save my life. Contact point, swing shape...nothing about it makes sense to me. I'm stuck with my inconsistent one hander.

You're welcome. A lot of uneducated punks think I'm merely a troll. They don't know the power of Paul Allen.

Babolat Pure Control is worth testing.

You just missed out. Prince has made some form of that for at least the last 15 years and I think they finally tried to match the original specs a couple of years ago. But, it looks like they probably just continued it. I see some 107s at Tennis Warehouse, but not 90s. Their Tour series tend to try to mimic 1980s and 1990s heavier racquets with feel. I've heard great things about their Textreme racquets. But everyone is playing Babolat these days. I kind of joked on a board about how Babolat has like 30 racquets, and a rep from the company broke it down for me.

Babolat pure drive is the answer for every weekend warrior IMHO
Side note on the prince graphite you posted in the OP. Every LSU player was forced to use that until about 2000....
