I play with a Wilson Blade 98S. It's fairly light, low-mid power, & has great spin & control. With that being said, I play with the original model that came out. The new version (black & green) is not as stable.

If you haven't already tried it, check out the Tennis Warehouse Racquent Finder. It helps identify racquets based on your needs (e.g. power, control, etc.).

Otherwise, there is some good advice in this thread, however, I'd be hesitant to take someone's brand recommendation and run with it. Demo a bunch of racquets and find what suits your game. A modern racquet will help tremendously.

Consider experimenting with different string combinations. A control racquet with gut on the crosses and polys on the mains strung to a high tension is quite different than a control racquet with polys only.

I play with poly mains and some other string crosses, but they're not labeled. Just had a local pro string it up for me...there wasn't much communication though. I love the POG, I just am having second thoughts about picking up another one. There has to be something out there better for me.

String it between 47 and 57 lbs...I just got my racket strung to over 60 lbs. I didn't get the feel I was hoping for, I'm thinking modern strings don't want to be that tight.

100 sq in seems big, but I guess it's right between a classic midsize 90 like I play and the traditional oversized 110s.

I need a larger sweet spot

60 lbs seems tight... I usually go with 56-57

I just did my last racket at 51 lbs. Modern strings are wild.

I'm currently demo'ing the Babolat Pure Drive and the Head Speed Pro. I'm using older Head Radicals now.

The Babolat Pure Drive is impossible for me to control. It's got way too much power.

I think I can adjust to the Head Pure Drive. I want to try the Wilson Blade as well.

I need a no-power racket. Since I've been playing again I've gone to the kick serve only, basically 2 second serves with the first just placed more risky. My first serve was a huge strength to my gave growing up, but I'm playing doubles now and it just seems sort of...out of place. I'd like more kick though, I'm thinking something more modern may be able to offer that. Not real excited about a much larger frame.

I kick serve both serves most of the time as well but mix in flat and slice to keep them guessing.

I was able to use the kick serve well with the Head Speed. Back when I used the old school Prince I didn't know what the frick I was doing. The tennis coach just needed one more player and I went out and pounded the ball while getting pissed off that it wouldn't go in.

I'd try the mid sized frames first. I don't like oversized either. That's just another excuse to have lazy feet for me.

I used to play a good bit with a guy who was a nationally ranked amateur (very gracious fellow to let me on the court with him - I struggled to take a game or two per set against him). He wasn't picky about his frames but paid very close attention to string and string tension. Every now and then he would break out one of his old Jack Kramer wooden frames and play a few sets with it.

I'm a hardcore Wilson fan.
