I get and understand opposition to the death penalty but the man that was executed tonight does not deserve their kind thoughts and prayers.

He carried out a monstrous crime in life and he just got a true and final verdict from from God himself a few hours ago on where he's going to be for all eternity.

I'm opposed to the death penalty in a non-emotional way, but I can't get energized about stuff like this.

Shane Claiborne and his lot claiming that the victim suffered a horrible death but so did Hall - I just can't wrap my head around it. And honestly, their willingness to be dishonest while also being extremely hypocritical on other issues ("pro lifers should also be anti-death penalty" claims guy/group who never takes a stand on abortion) dissuades people from joining in more reasonable movements to abolish the DP.

I hate this all or nothing line of thinking. Sometimes a rabid dog has to be put down.

When I lived in the Middle East, people who were sentenced to death were stoned. They would take them out back, tie them to a post, and a dump truck full of rocks would back up and dump its load on them. Quick and to the point.

You sure have a fricked up way of looking at things.

She did, and it lasted 36 hours. She was a very nice 22 year old woman just wanting a happy life.

but so did Hall

He was a 24 year old drug addict violently obsessed with his victim. He killed her in the most horrible way possible. His death was over in 10 minutes.

It's cool

I didn't follow this case much but I keep an eye on the fringe "Christian" left and it came up in the last several days because of that.

I hope the chair hurt like hell.

A better way to execute someone who commits such a horrible act would be to bring them to the farm. All we would need is a 3' piece of barb wire.

Sit them down under a small tree and use wire to attach their head to the tree. A little honey will bring the hogs in quick.

I can guarantee the death by a hog eating your guts would be as bad as being burned alive.

Quite frankly, who cares what kind of death Hall suffered. He set someone on fire. Who cares what pain he suffered.

Meant keeping him alive that long was the expense. Should not have been delayed for almost 3 decades

Then that's between him and God and if God really believes that Hall has repented his sins, acknowledged God and Jesus Christ, has fully accepted them and God says Hall is fit for a place in heaven, then so be it.

Every single soul that ever lived and is alive today is capable of making it into Heaven regardless of what they did on Earth.

Tennessee got stuck with Judge Nixson who blocked all executions for several decades. It took the ?retirement of Nixson to start executions long after the heinous killers had had their meals and lodging and lawyers paid for ...for decades....by the frustrated good people of our state.

God forgives. The Great State of Tennessee does not.

Good. It seems like the needle is a big cluster. Isn't there always issues about getting the drugs they use to put someone to death? Just strap them frickers to the chair and pull the lever.

They were bold enough to flat out murder someone, why is it such a big deal when it comes to putting the fricks to death?
