They do not. They cause no more problem than sedation or anesthesia meds. Difference being in an execution nobody is breathing for you. You become oxygen starved and you WILL move. You will twitch, gasp, may have a seizure. But you will remember as much as you recall in surgery.

It’s just a move to end the death penalty.

I'll bet good money that some time during the electrical part he'll wish he had a do-over

I saw an interview with the guy in charge of executions as Parchman Prison in MS. He said he had witnessed execution by the gas chamber, elec chair, and lethal injection. He said when done correctly the elec chair was the quickest and most humane execution. Said the gas chamber was brutal.

That was 34 years ago. That's 34 years of money that state has invested in that guy only to kill him. He should be dust by now.

Find out the worst way possible and DO THAT.

Why give this people the right to choose. His victims didnt get to choose anything.

Or whatever he wants.............do the other.

I’ve served on a jury that sentenced the defendant to death. I listened to the 911 call where a victim begged and pleaded for her life, then heard the gunshot, and heard her take her last gasp of breath before she died.

I really don’t give a shite if the method of execution is “humane” or torturous.

There’s no doubt of guilt, and this piece of shite is still sitting on death row. I believe all appeals have played out and hopefully it will finally happen, after over 20 years.

That is one ingenious means to getting a stay of execution. No way he can be deemed sane with a request like that!

argued the lethal injection would make him spend the last 10 to 18 minutes of his life in "utter terror and agony" while the electric chair would only cause him "excruciating pain for (likely) 15-30 seconds," court documents show.

frick that, should go against his will just because...or maybe back off a few volts/amps and drag that out a little longer...

When you choose to shorten two lives to zero days left, against their will, you lose any sympathy from me.

I firmly believe convicted murderers execution should be decided by the victims family.

Looks like they had to get a refurbished chair and they think it may not work correctly.

A Massachusetts man, who refurbished Tennessee’s electric chair in 1988, is worried it could malfunction.
“I hope it works but I have some serious doubts,” self-taught engineer Fred Leuchter told NBC News on Thursday.

What do they do if the chair fails mid electrocution?

Around 7% of folks executed weren't even guilty of the crime. Until there is a way to close that to zero I'd prefer there be no executions.
