There is no evidence that he ever declassified them besides the tweets of a renown liar under investigation and his sycophants parroting him.
Furthermore, it's a red herring considering that none of the cited laws in the warrant depend on the documents being classified or not.
Personally, I think unless Trump was actually bidding off top secret info to the highest bidder and they have smoking gun evidence, or actual footage of him or his people lying about returning the top secret documents and then not, then covering it up, this will largely be the end of this now that the documents are back in proper custody....Which sucks for Mr. Nailgun from TheDonald and this guy, who probably posts over on the poli board too lol

Well, right as I hit post I see the DOJ just released another statement saying they will unseal additional documents but keep the affidavit sealed on the basis that their investigation is ongoing and if they did it would have to be heavily redacted to ensure the safety of cooperating witnesses and details of the case...this shite isn't going away for Trump any time soon.

Just like the numerous posts I've come across here calling for the murder of specific people or groups, chances are you aren't going to get in trouble, but yes, if you make specific threats on individuals or groups and draw enough attention, you are subject to prosecution

That is a red herring. Go read the three criminal laws cited in the warrant and the basis of the investigation, none of them depend on whether documents contain classified information or not.
The Espionage Act
18 U.S. Code § 1519 - Destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in Federal investigations and bankruptcy
18 U.S. Code § 2071 - Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally
You will not find anywhere in those cited laws that classification of the documents is a requirement for violation.

You can, in part, blame Trump then...
As president, Trump approved a law increasing penalties for mishandling classified info. It could come back to bite him.
Though I don't think those laws are very vague at all, they are broad, but pretty damn clear.
