Thanks. Have no idea if we would like camping or not. I went with my parents as a kid but had none of the work/responsibility. Husband has never done anything but cabins. Just curious how real life experiences are. That is why we would consider renting one first.

Make sure you get one with the big fold down door on the back... so you can get in it.

It's freaking expensive if you drive any distance worth traveling. But it's fun.

You should almost always rent an RV over buying one, particularly if you're not planning on practically living in the thing most of the time.

Well I want to hear that story as well because that helps with the vacation part. But things that happen in BR are much different than the rest of the world so I also want to hear about the BR dealers specifically also.

We spent the last 3 months in our covid rv, if your going to go out for a while i suggest buying a used one. To rent for a month well coat you 8k to 11k.

That's what I posted, it's expensive even for just a week if you plan on leaving the state. I love the freedom of it though.

How is that even possible? Do you get billed per mile?

Most have an initial mileage cap, then X amount per so many miles after that. Plus the daily rental.

I'm not talking about a pop up camper though.

Give John Spruell a call at The RV Shop in Central. They rent and sell. Good guy and will help you make the right decision.

1) Renting an RV i snot camping. ;)

2) It's cheaper than renting cars, hotels, etc. out west due to the prevalence of BLM land.

We rented one in Sacramento and drove down the PCH to Big Sur, over to Sequioa, down through Death Valley and then to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It cost about $1,000 including fuel, rental, etc. We didnt eat in restaurants very often. We drove until we were tired, then looked for BLM land to overnight on (free), etc.

It's an experience for sure and pretty convenient having food, bed, toilet, etc. with you at all times. It's not really hard to find a place to park for an overnight like a Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, etc. in a pinch. Most RV places are going to cost you less than a hotel room, too.

Also, renting is the way to go vs. buying unless you plan on living in it.

Fly & drive fly to Vegas rent hit Zion and all the parks in the area in a week would be a great trip much cheeper. Plus you get more time on the ground at destination
