Late night escapades galore:
* Painting over the left part of the Tau on the TKE house, making it a Gamma
* Illustrated banner hung from the AZD house: "National Nipple Week. Free Breast Exams"
* Brick and mortaring the housemom into her suite while she slept and LSU Police trying to keep a straight face the next morning
* South seas lake in the front yard with toilet fountain, kegs and the Guttersharks
* Bar specials (Tues- Ernesto's/Earnie's); Weds-Classic Rock/Murphy's; Thurs - bullfrogs and screwdrivers at Fred's and Beat the Clock next door; Gator bar on Sundays with red beans and rice)
* Bourbon-soaked Hodson to Fuller touchdown in Tiger Stadium

With social media everything all would have been documented and trouble would ensue - back then it was just college life.

Freshman year I had the dreaded classes on Tuesday and Thursdays. 1 class was 12:00-1:30 and the next was 4:00-5:30. We usually went over to the Chimes for happy hour pitchers of beer. Usually didn't make it to the 4:00 class that much.

I forgot about Happy Note and Rianos at the old Confederate Mall where BRCC is today. Good times at those places as well.

You must have had classes with my SO. She was an LA major.

Had a friend that was a trainer on the basketball team. He got me invited to some late night games in the basement of the PMAC. That was really freaking cool.

My roommate was a ring man on the gymnastics team. I hung out with those crazy guys a bit. They were all out of state guys. Some brought girlfriends and stuck to themselves. A bunch were hard drinking, weed smoking nuts that I couldn't keep up with. Some of the older guys had a big house where they had great parties. I earned a permanent invite there by helping steal the NCAA big hangup medallions from the NCAA tournament in the PMAC one year. They became permanent decorations in their house.

Back then all of the foreign students families had tons of money. Some Puerto Rican guys lived down the hall from me. Ceasar and Paco were rich ladies men that walked around campus selling weed out of backpacks. They could get, and they, themselves, ingested all manners of drugs. They took purple microdots and drank mushroom tea. I couldn't hang with them either, but I baby sat them a few times.

I can't imagine having a camera (phone) on me all the time at college.

Huey and Bill usually tailgate under the tree in the law lot between the DKE house and law school for gamedays.

Jam Jam was last major bash before Finals at Cow Palace. Always a fun time!! South Seas was usually a week or two before. Ridiculously crazy !!! Both were a blast!! Frat formals usually in San Destin were late Feb - early March!! Sorority formals were usually Jan-early Feb before Marci Gras. If you snagged 3 sorority formals you won the triple crown!!!!! This was late 70's thru early 80's time frame!!

I pledged 1996. Seems like forever ago. Favorite was Murphy's. What no one has mentioned was the amount out fights that happened in that place. Wow. The best of times, the worst of times. Glad it's over, but g'damn, I'd definitely go back for a few choice weekends.

I can still smell the bourbon coming from the student section.

Especially on fraternity bid day, the place was like the movie RoadHouse.

Thursday night at the Chimes.

Late 90's one night. Roommates and I were at Sport's Illustrated when Shaq walked in to the bar. Everyone started cheering and the Fight Song started playing.

I have a good CHS story.

January of my senior year (2011). i roomed with three of my friends/teammates while attending an overnight prospect camp at ULM. my coach had the hotel room directly adjacent to us (shared a wall).

We snuck 4 West Monroe girls into our hotel room with 2 cases of beer that night. We had met them at the football playoff game Catholic played the previous year vs WM in the Semifinals.

That room was fricking nasty. 2 beds 4 couples.

We could have easily lost half our starting lineup for that year if we got caught that night

Coach Achord if you read this... I'm not sorry

P Doucet died of a heart attack a few years ago

He passed in June of this year in Fordoche. I had myself a good cry on that day. I was on vacation so could not be at the funeral. Two brothers were in attendance. Very, very sad. He was never the same after Katrina. That hit him so hard I don't think he ever really recovered. RIP, brother.

In 1978, there was a full bar in the basement of a freshman dorm (Hatcher) run by the school. You could leave tiger stadium at halftime, walk across the street, grab a drink and return to the stadium.
Bid night on fraternity row included 50 kegs per house.
St. Patrick's day at Murphy's was epic. The Bayou on Chimes on Monday (longneck DIxie). The Bengal on Tuesday. The White Horse on Wednesday (ladies night). Fred's on Thursday. The Brass Rail on Friday($0.25 bourbon). Saturday was game day. Ken and Earline's Alligator Hilton on Sunday ($0.35 beer). Other bargains where everywhere for $35 an ounce (especially if you were friends with the art history profs).
Playboy did not include LSU in their list of top 10 party schools (We we ruled ineligible due to lack of amateur status)

I remember going to a "Ghetto party" and people coming in black face. damn times were different.

I still have Party Pics from our Ghetto Party exchange with Phi Mu. I wore a sweatband with a Black Power pick stuck in it and had my beer cup in a brown paper bag. Lots of people in blackface but even then I knew that was crossing the line. That party alone would get people expelled these days and that was just a normal Thurs night.

We had a Heaven and Hell Party where you went up the outside fire escape to the second story of the house and had to go through ten themed rooms where you did a shot in each one with your date in order to gain access to the main floor (Hell) which was done up in red with a band and Devil bartenders.

Monday night at Murphey's for dollar calls. You could get hammered for ten bucks without even pre-drinking.

Wasn't Monday dollar pitchers and Wed was dollar call, at least '86-90?

Murphy's specials as I remember it:
Monday $1 pitchers of beer
Tuesday Quarter beer
Wednesday $1 call drinks
Thursday drink around the clock (different specials for each hour time slot)
